ITEM #: SCP-8642Object Class: EUCLIDPreferred Name: BLAIR
SPECIAL CONTAINMENT PROCEDURESSCP-8642 is housed within a reinforced humanoid containment chamber maintained at approximately 4°C. Reflective surfaces are prohibited within the chamber due to SCP-8642's anomalous absence of reflection.
Personnel are advised to avoid prolonged direct observation of SCP-8642's eyes. Initial exposure may produce visual hallucinations, followed by auditory phenomena and involuntary resurfacing of forgotten memories. Personnel experiencing these effects are to terminate visual contact and report for psychological evaluation.
Despite SCP-8642's physical capabilities, cooperative behavior is considered the primary means of containment. Unnecessary restraint, provocation, or depersonalizing treatment is discouraged.
DESCRIPTIONSCP-8642 is an adult humanoid entity identifying herself as Blair. She stands approximately 1.63 m tall and possesses pale skin, long white hair, and completely black ocular voids lacking visible sclera, iris, or pupil.
Blair identifies herself as a Voidkin, originating from a location or reality presently inaccessible to Foundation research. She exhibits superhuman strength, speed, reflexes, endurance, flight, exceptional pain tolerance, and resistance to conventional injury.
Additional anomalous traits include extremely low body temperature, minimal heartbeat and pulse, absence of shadow and reflection, occasional electronic interference, muffled footsteps, localized clock desynchronization, and black tear-like fluid produced during emotional distress.
Fig. 1 — SCP-8642 in containment. ANOMALOUS OBSERVATION EFFECTSustained eye contact produces an escalating sequence of perceptual effects. Subjects commonly report the impression that Blair is smiling, followed by disembodied laughter seemingly originating from multiple directions. Continued exposure may cause forgotten or suppressed memories to surface involuntarily. Blair does not appear to consciously initiate these effects.
ADDENDUM 8642-A“SCP-8642 is dangerous. That much is beyond dispute. What matters more is that she does not want to be.
Treat Blair as a person and she will usually return the courtesy. Reduce her to a number, a specimen, or a problem to be solved, and you may quickly discover how difficult she is to contain.
Do not stare into her eyes. Do not provoke her. And above all, remember that there is someone in that chamber who misses her home.”
INTERNAL PERSONNEL NOTEUse of the designation “SCP-8642” is appropriate in formal documentation. During direct interaction, personnel are encouraged to use the subject's preferred name unless operational circumstances require otherwise.
