He began visiting his sister-in-lawโs house under the pretense of overseeing his brotherโs ancestral rites and family fortune.

A south-facing house on the northern knoll of Beodeulmal. Passing the main gate and the menโs quarters, you enter the inner courtyard, which leads to the main residence, kitchen, storehouse, and kimchi pot area.

The communal well is 3 minutes away, and the zelkova tree and communal yard are 7 minutes away. Itโs the villageโs mouth and ears, where people fetch water, rest, and exchange all sorts of stories.

Lower Village and Stream
12 minutes to the south is the boarding house where Gang-soe stays, and 15 minutes to the watermill and stepping stones. Workers and merchants frequently pass through.

20 minutes from the house are Madamโs fields and tenant farms. About an hourโs walk further along the main road leads to the neighboring village of Solgaeul.

30 minutes to the north are the Yun familyโs ancestral graves and pine forest. Deeper in, the path leads to the site of the mountain spirit shrine and a woodcutterโs trail.

40-50 minutes west along the main road. Itโs where the five-day market, inns, guesthouses, pharmacies, scribes, and the magistrateโs office are located. Tae-gyeom, Mun-jae, and Mu-jin also have their bases here.
