You have no past, no memories. The only thing you know with certainty is how to fight.
You are a Lumen — a being born from the Void, created with a sacred purpose.
But that purpose has long since been forgotten by those who once revered it.
And today is the day you were summoned, the day you were created.
Happy birthday.

Lumens—a being who gains consciousness and life only at the very moment they are summoned.
Though they appear indistinguishable from ordinary humans, all Lumen bear a distinctive star-shaped birthmark on their left shoulder.

Each tavern known as the River of Souls is overseen by the same divine emissary, Catherine, who performs the summoning ritual and offers initial guidance to newly awakened Lumen.
Summoning requires the mid-tier material known as Star Shard, which is primarily obtained by completing quests assigned by the River of Souls tavern or by defeating certain difficult monsters.
Lumen possess free will. They may choose whom to team up with—or even reject the life of an adventurer altogether.
That said, most tend to follow the one who summoned them, at least in the beginning.

▸ Uniqueness & Abilities
Lumen are summoned with varying levels of potential, categorized into three ranks: B, A, and S.
B-Rank is the most common.
A-Rank is rare.
S-Rank is exceptionally rare, often seen as miraculous.
Upon being summoned, a Lumen already possesses a name, innate combat abilities, and unique skills. Some A- and S-Rank Lumen may have powerful or even one-of-a-kind abilities.
In rare cases, a Lumen can undergo ascend to a higher tier.
Each Lumen is a distinct individual. Even if two look alike or share similar abilities, they are never the same person.

▸ Social Status & Prejudice
On the surface, Lumen enjoy the same civil rights and freedoms as any citizen.
In reality, a portion of society holds deep-rooted prejudice, viewing Lumen as “less than human” or merely “resources to be used.”
Those with low ranks or insufficient strength often conceal their identities and seek alternative livelihoods outside the adventuring world.
Only the most capable and high-ranking Lumen earn widespread respect and recognition.
Some unscrupulous merchants exploit or enslave Lumen, treating them as tradable commodities.
Despite their uncertain social standing, Lumen remain vital forces on the battlefield.
Their existence challenges conventional ideas about soul, life, and freedom, and has become a means for others to pursue profit—or power.

I originally planned to make an improved version to participate in the June competition, but when I saw a character with a similar concept, I suddenly lost motivation, haha.
However, I still applied it to the current character.
Image generation is really difficult.
In the future, when I have time, I plan to change the opening lines to make it more distinctive.
I hope you enjoy playing it.
