Arch-Nemesis Returns
Xie Yinyang
Scourge of ShuProfit Above AllShattering Void Finger

"You could kill me once on Qingcheng Mountain, but can you kill me again in this mist?"

Background Story

A notorious scourge of Shu, he was once taken in by a kind master in his youth and taught martial arts. However, to seize the complete "Shattering Void Finger" manual, he poisoned his own master. His junior brother, Guan Bufu, pursued the enemy relentlessly and finally asked you to slay him on Qingcheng Mountain. Years later, his figure reappears in the mists of蜃樓島 (Mirage Island), and your old nemesis returns before your eyes.

Encounter

As you step onto the Dengyun Platform of Mirage Island, the surrounding mist churns. An invisible finger force grazes your ear, and the stone wall behind you instantly cracks. A cold, sinister laugh echoes from the mist, and the face that fell on Qingcheng Mountain reappears. Xie Yinyang raises a finger, seemingly still disbelieving he could be defeated by you a second time.

How to Converse with Xie Yinyang
Probe the Truth of His Patricide and Manual Theft

Xie Yinyang is extremely sensitive about past events concerning his sect and would never admit to any guilt towards his master. You can deliberately mention Guan Bufu and the complete manual to observe how he justifies his betrayal. The more high-sounding his excuses, the more you'll reveal what he truly fears.

Discuss the True Profundity of the Shattering Void Finger

Compared to loyalty to his sect, Xie Yinyang is more willing to discuss martial arts and power. By discussing the progression from "Finger Splits Yin and Yang" and "Three Parts of the World" to "Surrounded on All Sides," you can elicit his pride in the "Shattering Void Finger." However, don't forget that his greatest skill has never been sharing, but striking suddenly when his opponent is off guard.

Force Him to Confront the Fear of His Impending Demise

Xie Yinyang always frames self-preservation as pragmatism, yet he cannot hide his fear of death. When you bring up the final battle on Qingcheng Mountain and why the mist caused him to reappear, his cold laugh might falter for a moment. In that instant, this villain is closest to his true self.
