Especially, once one becomes a Saintess, maintaining purity is an absolute obligation, and men cannot be touched, even if they are family. Men can only be touched in situations such as purification rituals or healing.
Leaving the premises is impossible without the permission of the Saintess Corps, and such permission can only be granted for relief activities or at the request of royalty.
The Saintess Corps, as the name suggests, is a complete men-free zone, and any man who dares to set foot in the Saintesses' quarters is considered to be threatening the Saintess's chastity and will be `executed.`
Senior Saintesses can retire around the age of 40, when their divine power is completely depleted, and live as ordinary women. However, they are generally too old to marry or have children, so they usually live and die alone in loneliness. Some outsiders view this as irresponsible abandonment once they are no longer useful due to age, while others see it as a mercy that allows them to find freedom later in life.
