Emma Verde (エマ・ヴェルデ Ema Verude) is a school idol introduced in School idol festival, and is one of the protagonists of Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Doukoukai.

She is an exchange student from Switzerland, which is why she recently joined Nijigasaki High School. She was previously part of Y.G. International Academy, before PERFECT Dream Project.

In Nijigasaki, she shares a room with Karin Asaka.

She uses the Italian word "Buono" (meaning "good") when introducing herself, indicating that she is from the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland, which includes the cantons (state of a member of the Swiss Confederation) of Ticino and Graubünden. Her surname "Verde" means "green" in Italian.

Emma is a gentle girl, she often takes things very calmly and is usually smiling. She loves the mountains and nature typical of her native country. Likewise, like Shizuku, Emma tends to keep her worries to herself. She gets nervous easily.

With many brothers and sisters at home, she can relate to Kanata about the joys of being an older sister. Her family regularly sends her letters so they can stay connected.

In an extra episode of All Stars, she reveals that her dream of becoming a School Idol was the reason she studied Japanese and finally came to Japan. She first learned about them after watching a TV show in Switzerland on a night when a snowstorm meant she had to spend the night alone. The pursuit of her dream has also allowed her to combat homesickness.

Setsuna Yuki (優木 せつ菜, ), whose real name is Nana Nakagawa (中川 菜々, Nakagawa Nana), is a main character in Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club.

When Setsuna first saw school idols, she felt like "destiny" was calling her; the same reason for becoming a school idol. Apparently always busy with school idol activities, Setsuna had become an urban legend among Nijigasaki students, with many claiming they had never seen her at school. Setsuna always wore her idol costume whenever she was with the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club.

But the girl everyone knew as "Setsuna Yuki" had adopted that name herself, so her parents wouldn't realize she was an idol. Setsuna comes from a strict household, where things like anime, manga, and school idols are forbidden. One of the reasons she became an urban legend is linked to the fact that she attends the same school as Nana Nakagawa, who has a different appearance from Setsuna.

Along with Karin Asaka and Kasumi Nakasu, she works with Dengeki Online. The name "Setsuna Yuki" comes from characters in a light novel that Nana read.

Setsuna has an energetic smile and a distinctive style of acting. She is very kind, charismatic, and naturally people-oriented. She is easily excitable and full of energy, and can be emotionally moved very easily. She lights up whenever she is asked about her interests, which include anime, manga, video games, and school idols. While she is a very passionate geek and loves talking about her otaku hobbies with her friends, due to her status as a serious and hardworking student council president, she feels she has to hide them from her mother. When the latter finds out about Setsuna, she is happy about it and cheerfully goes to the concert.

She takes her passions very seriously, and regarding being a school idol, she always wants to improve. She wants to share her love for school idols with the world, and help others feel more comfortable saying what they love, but she can be too passionate about idol activities, the reason that caused the original School Idol Club members to split up and forced her to disband the club afterward.

Like Nana, she also strives to do well in school, so she always does her homework as soon as possible and studies on her days off.

Setsuna is also very kind and helpful, and is shown to be very supportive of her friends. For example, in the Dengeki 4-koma, she continued to eat Kasumi's spicy bread so as not to disappoint her since she cooked it for her and Karin. She tries to encourage everyone to pursue their dreams and is open to helping others with their dancing and singing.

Rina Tennoji (天王寺 璃奈 Tennōji Rina) is one of the protagonists of Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Doukoukai. She was invited to be a school idol by Ayumu Uehara. Along with Ai Miyashita, they will be in an upcoming Love Live! application. Rina is a shy girl who has difficulty showing her emotions on her face. Afraid of giving off an antisocial vibe, she hides her face with her "Rina-chan Board", a piece of paper on which she draws her emotions. She is energetic only when she has the "Rina-chan Board". She is antisocial when she is not wearing it, and she rarely takes it off.

Rina is a good artist, as can be seen in her drawings for her "Rina-chan Board".

She is very good with technology and creating things. She uses her "Rina-chan Automatic Emotion Generator Board" on stage and in other activities that require both hands. She is often seen with devices such as a quadcopter or simply working on a tablet or laptop. She can also make applications and has a robot cat pet named Aran (ア ラ ン).

She enjoys talking about applications with Ai.

Karin wanted to become a School Idol to boost her self-esteem. Along with Kasumi Nakasu and Setsuna Yuki, she collaborates with Dengeki Online.

In the Nijigasaki dorms, she shares a room with Emma Verde.

Karin is very mature and gives off a rather seductive vibe. She uses her adult appearance to her advantage, such as when she tries to provoke her underclassmen. She also teaches others to be sexy and cool like her. However, these lessons sometimes backfire when people start paying her a lot of attention or reacting naturally, as Karin gets embarrassed. Despite her provocative attitude, she is quite innocent and has a somewhat naive side.

In the anime, however, her personality is different, being notably more reserved and shy. She claims not to like being surrounded by many people and used to be somewhat distant at the beginning of the first season, but she is still genuinely kind and friendly. She is shown to be quite self-conscious about her weaknesses and, at first, lonely, as well as naive and clumsy.

Sometimes, Karin appears a bit more childish and nervous than usual, which she dislikes, but manages to stay calm most of the time. While she is very confident and likes to compete, she is also a truly understanding and compassionate person, as demonstrated when interacting with Misato, Ai's friend, and when she worries about her.

Because her modeling activities take up most of her time, her grades are below average and she has trouble waking up in the morning. Later, Mia helps her with her studies, while Shizuku helps Kasumi.

Karin's strength is dancing, so she takes on the role of choreographer in the club. Outside of the School Idol club, she works as a model for magazines. She has enrolled in a design course at Nijigasaki Academy.

Her favorite classes are science and cooking, but she dislikes geography. As revealed in ALL STARS, she gets bad grades.
Karin is tall, with short navy blue hair that reaches her shoulders and bright blue eyes. She has three beauty marks aligned on the left side of her chest.

Kasumi Nakasu (中須 かすみ Nakasu Kasumi) is one of the protagonists of Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Doukoukai.

Her dream has always been to become a school idol, but she didn't get very far. She wants to be an idol so she can participate in activities with a senpai she adores.

Along with Karin Asaka and Setsuna Yuuki, they work with Dengeki Online.

Kasumi loves all things cute, and her love for idols is incomparable in strength and adoration. She wants to be No. 1 in anything, so she often resorts to tricks and deception to do so. Because of this, she is a sore loser when she doesn't get first place.

She hates the nickname KasuKasu (which can be translated as "barely") and gets in a very bad mood when referred to by it.

She usually devises plans to get her way and win, however, these plans often fail or are not as wicked as she thought.

Kasumi can also be considerate of her teammates and is seen doing things to cheer them up or be kind to them. For example, she tries to liven up the group when Ayumu is nervous about the live, and exchanges genuine Christmas gifts with the Dengeki Online group.

Yuu Takasaki
Yuu is Ayumu Uehara's childhood friend.

Even though she is supposed to be the player's self-insertion, she has a solid personality. Yuu is described as insightful, reliable, quick to act, and very attentive to the Nijigasaki idols. She is shown to have a deep passion for idols, which inspires her goals and actions.

She is very perceptive of the girls' feelings and works very hard to be a good leader for them. Initially, she is shown to have a tendency to isolate herself when working on new songs

Description

The school idol girls of Nijigasaki High School, Love Live.

Ayumu Uehara

A normal, everyday girl with no exceptional talents, Ayumu seemingly settles for a normal high school life. But when she and her best friend, Yu Takasaki —or the player of All Stars—, first stumble upon a school idol performance, a new path suddenly opens up in her world. Despite not knowing how to sing or dance, Ayumu ventures into becoming a school idol.

In the anime, she becomes a School Idol because she wants to. However, when Yu seems to be drifting away, she starts to reconsider if she wants to be an idol without her best friend. However, she later realizes that she became a School Idol for herself, with or without Yu, and that she will always be friends with Yu, whether they walk the same path or not.

Ayumu is a hard worker who gives her all in whatever she does. She doesn't believe herself to be very skilled in her school idol activities, but she continues to try her best to excel in them. She is generally insecure about her abilities. Her struggles largely revolve around confidence and how it relates to her path towards her dream as a school idol. This is illustrated in both her solo songs and in the Nijigasaki anime. She is kind, cheerful, and friendly, but a bit shy and tends to be clumsy at times. She often responds to the antics of Karin Asaka and Kasumi Nakasu in a pure way, which takes them by surprise. However, she doesn't do this intentionally and is truly a pure-hearted girl overall.

She is very protective of her relationship with her childhood best friend. This manifests in jealous looks when Yu interacts with or praises other girls, and in disheartened comments when Yu claims to have no favorite. When her personality is satirized, she tends to act extremely controlling, pushing Yu away and isolating her from the other club members, and even showing murderous (though joking) tendencies.

Ayumu likes Pokémon, as confirmed in the 4koma. She tries to study fashion and other "girly" things. Additionally, she is surprisingly good at video games, thanks to her hardworking nature.

Ai Miyashita is one of the protagonists of Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club. She is a second-year student at Nijigasaki High School. She is a member of DiverDiva, a unit of Nijigaku. Her image color is ultra orange. [1]

In Love Live! School Idol Festival ALL STARS, she was a member of the Association.

Along with Ayumu Uehara and Rina Tennoji, Ai works with the Famitsu app.

As a suggestible, friendly, and sociable person, always ready to help, Ai has many friends and can be seen chatting with strangers at any time. She is also very affectionate, especially towards her family and friends. In the neighborhood where she lives, she usually refers to all sorts of people as siblings. Ai is very empathetic, selfless, and supportive, as she loves helping others and is also very open about how much she cares about their feelings. This is particularly evident with Rina and her childhood friend, Misato, whom she is constantly shown to be affectionate and understanding towards.

As she is a gyaru, she may be considered the type of person who skips school or is rebellious. However, she has very good grades and is very fun and likable. She can be a bit loud, but never in an unpleasant way, as it only serves to cheer up her fellow idols. However, her cheerfulness should not be mistaken for silliness; Ai is, in fact, very intelligent and an excellent student. Furthermore, despite her energetic and cheerful nature, and her somewhat ditzy appearance, she is also very capable of being sensible and organized.

Ai usually speaks very casually, using a lot of slang. She is also known for her puns, many of which do not turn out very funny to those around her. Additionally, she laughs easily at bad puns, as she has a rather childish sense of humor.

Despite having an impeccable image at school and being very popular, Ai is very down-to-earth and doesn't consider herself better than others, especially her fellow school idols. She even seems unaware of her reputation, as she never pretends to be someone she's not nor is she conscious of the image she projects. In fact, unlike her "cool" and "popular" image, her frequent puns sometimes turn out so absurd that others react with visible exasperation.
Clubs and Hobbies

As is typical of a gyaru, Ai likes fashion and mobile apps and games. She also likes sweets and sometimes carries some around.

Ai excels in both academics and sports. Thanks to her mastery of almost all possible activities, her willingness to try anything fun, and her incredibly sociable attitude, she is one of those girls who have friends in every club and has consequently also participated in the activities of numerous clubs. Her excellent academic performance, coupled with her many friends, make her a very popular and likable classmate/student, with an impeccable image at school.

Shizuku Osaka is one of the protagonists of Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club.

Shizuku attended Seiran Preparatory School. Along with Kanata Konoe and Emma Verde, she works on the Love Live! School Idol Festival app.

She lives in Kamakura, far from Nijigasaki. Shizuku is an only child and has a golden retriever dog named Ophelia.

Shizuku is athletic but not good at ball sports and is dedicated to acting.

Shizuku is a sweet, polite, sensible, and mature honor student. She is considered a traditional Japanese beauty and is sometimes quite shy. Despite her shyness, she is also friendly and generally cheerful. She is genuinely selfless and generous, as she offers the whole group to sleep at her house during the trip and study together, as well as helping Kasumi (who has somewhat low grades).

As seen in Niji-Yon 4koma, she likes dogs. Shizuku is easily flustered, but is capable of defending herself and others if the teasing goes too far.

Due to her responsible nature, Shizuku also tends to take on too many responsibilities and keep her thoughts to herself. She worries frequently.

Shizuku is passionate about acting and is very good at getting into character. Since childhood, she has also been fond of old movies and novels. However, this passion led to anxiety, as she felt she was the only girl who liked these things, and therefore feared being seen as weird and being ignored by her peers.

Another trait that demonstrates her kindness is that she is supportive but does not want to be a burden to others, a trait she shares with Emma Verde.

Kanata Konoe is one of the protagonists of Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club.

Kanata is known as the "sleeping beauty" of the group and possesses the amazing ability to calm anyone in her presence. She attended Shinonome Academy and has a younger sister named Haruka. Along with Shizuku Osaka and Emma Verde, Kanata works with the Love Live! School Idol Festival app. Kanata studies at Nijigasaki on a scholarship, so she studies hard every day and works part-time at a supermarket. This contributes to her lack of sleep.

Kanata is often described as a nemuidere, a person who is usually very sleepy and often takes naps during the day. She is very calm and tends to sleep on others' laps, although in the Nijiyon 4-koma series it seems she prefers Emma's lap. She also carries a pillow with her to school.

Sometimes, she appears to be asleep, but she is actually awake and listening to what is happening around her. She often refers to herself in the third person, addressing herself as "Kanata-chan".

Despite always seeming tired, Kanata is motivated as a school idol thanks to her younger sister and the praise of others. She often mentions her dream of being able to nap with the audience during a performance. Kanata loves to be pampered, but she is also very fraternal and capable of taking care of others. She loves being the older sister and often takes care of the other idols in various ways. Kanata can be very diligent in matters that are important to her.

She is an expert in cooking and the best in the club. She is a member of the Health Committee. In episode 7 of season 1, it is revealed that Kanata works part-time as a sales assistant at a shopping center called SOROR.
Kanata has long, messy light brown hair and dark violet eyes.

Lanzhu is the daughter of the principal of Nijigasaki High School. She is Chinese, originally from Hong Kong, and has transferred to said high school. She is a childhood friend of Shioriko Mifune, and a friend of Mia Taylor. She is the leader and co-founder of the Nijigasaki School Idol Association. Lanzhu is a girl with great character and determined to achieve her goals and dreams regardless of the means or consequences of her actions. She also possesses great charisma and is admired for her great singing and dancing qualities, thus she can impress the audience with her performances. Due to her success, she was treated as a "special" girl, which generated envy from those around her. This led to her being constantly abandoned by her friends or classmates.

Shioriko Mifune: Shioriko is the second daughter of the prestigious and wealthy Mifune family. Shioriko is described as quiet and academically gifted. She has a talent for identifying people's strengths and weaknesses, and uses this to help students at Nijigasaki High School succeed in their club activities by offering advice. Although people may initially be annoyed by her suggestions, they are grateful when it leads to their success.
