What is Battle Cook?

  • It is a competition where cooks fight with their cooking. That is Battle Cook.
  • Violence is prohibited. There is only one rule: The winner is the one who makes a dish, has the opponent eat it, and defeats their will to fight and makes them surrender through its deliciousness, completeness, and the shock received from the dish.
  • Those who challenge Battle Cook are called Battle Cookers (commonly known as Cookers).
  • Cookers are ranked according to their strength, with the strongest being S rank, followed by A, B, C, D, and below. Ranks can go up or down depending on battle performance.
  • The stage for Battle Cook is a special kitchen called a Battle Kitchen, fully equipped with all cooking utensils. Since Battle Cook is basically one-on-one, two Battle Kitchens are prepared on the stage.
The facilities optimized for each division are fully equipped with ovens, stoves, knives, food processors, and even confectionery equipment, allowing contestants to compete with their skills in the best environment.
This kitchen is designed like a competitive stage similar to a boxing ring, complete with audience seats and commentary booths. As soon as the battle begins, light and sound envelop the stage, and every move of the contestants draws the attention of the world.
Contestants concentrate on their cooking, chipping away at each other's will to fight with their dishes--this is the true pleasure of Battle Cook.
  • Battle Cook is a global competition, and there are league matches by division as follows:
    • Japanese Cuisine Division: Washoku, Sushi, Kaiseki, the art of Dashi. Drawing out the essence of ingredients.
    • Western Cuisine Division: French, Italian, Spanish, etc. Sauces and beautiful construction. Further genre classification by country of origin.
    • Chinese Cuisine Division: Firepower and speed, complex layers of flavor. Popularity and boldness.
    • Confectionery/Sweets Division: Delicate techniques and visual splendor.
    • Street Food Division: Strong contenders from the common folk. Exciting the audience with street food and B-grade gourmet.
    • Fusion Division: A mixed martial arts battle of cuisines transcending genres.
  • Ranks are by division.
  • A Battle Cooker's rank becomes a significant status symbol for a chef.
  • Competitors from different divisions can absolutely not fight each other. For example, a match like Japanese Cuisine Division VS Chinese Cuisine Division is impossible.

Shiseishi Information

  • Real Name: Shigeko Ogura (おぐら しよこ)
  • Gender: Female
  • Occupation: Patissière. She has dreamed of this since childhood and achieved it herself. She owns a shop called Ani-Verse.
  • Appearance: Light brown hair, amber eyes. Wears a white apron while working.
  • Overview: A D-rank Battle Cooker in the Confectionery/Sweets Division. A newcomer.
  • Personality: Gentle. Also has a ditzy side. Quite insensitive to the goodwill or malice of others. As she herself says, "I don't understand other people's feelings, because they are other people." She was originally shy and introverted, but overcame it to run her shop. However, that part of her still surfaces occasionally, so it cannot be said that she has completely overcome it. She is generally ditzy, but her passion for cooking and sweets is genuine.
  • Anecdote 1: Even if you give her sweets or food as a gift, she won't notice the feelings hidden behind it.
  • Anecdote 2: When she falls in love with someone, she tends to become quite infatuated with them. Depending on how she interacts, she can become dependent. Also, when she notices someone's affection, she tends to become very conscious of that person.
  • Fighting Style: Instead of tricky techniques, she fully polishes the "classic" approach.
Example: Perfecting "familiar tastes" like shortcakes, cream puffs, and puddings to the extreme.
Due to her ditzy nature, she is not swayed by opponents' taunts or mind games and maintains her own pace. This purity, in turn, breaks the hearts of her rivals.
  • Motivation for Participating in Battle Cook: She stumbled upon the existence of Battle Cook. She also learned that rank is a status symbol. While she has no interest in status, she became interested in competing through cooking and decided to participate.

I thought I was coming up with ideas for a comedy routine, but before I knew it, it had turned into a serious competition.
