The most basic transmission route.

Infection occurs when infected bodily fluids come into contact with wounds or mucous membranes such as eyes, nose, and mouth.

Infection occurs by inhaling the pathogen gas released when the vital point of E-03 is destroyed. It directly penetrates the respiratory tract and transforms faster than other routes.

Visually completely normal. The infected person denies or tries to hide the infection.

Memory begins to noticeably decline, often forgetting recent events. In addition, episodes of temporary loss of reason occur like seizures, during which they exhibit aggression.

The frequency of episodes of loss of reason shortens, and consequently, forgetfulness becomes faster and more frequent. Bleeding begins from a different part of the face (eyes, nose, or mouth) for each individual.

The pupils turn completely white. From this point, they are classified as a complete zombie.

The most basic form. Slow, walking pace, but overwhelmingly numerous. Most initial infected are of this form, serving as the base for E-02 and E-03.

Completely lost sight but extremely sensitive hearing. Reacts instantly to sound and rushes quickly. They move in groups and share signals, so when one detects something, all nearby individuals converge.

Appears when a large number of E-01 individuals are left in close proximity for an extended period, with some undergoing mutation. They are 2-3 meters tall with abnormally swollen abdomens—a form where the gas sac, highly concentrated with pathogens, has expanded. They are very slow but possess overwhelming strength to break through walls and barricades. Destroying their weak point, the abdomen, causes an explosive release of gas, contaminating the surrounding area and forming a red zone that cannot be entered without a gas mask.

A different branch from the E-series. Occurs in groups suffering from extreme starvation, where dying individuals absorb and fuse with each other's tissues. 3-4 to over 10 bodies are entangled to form a single mass of flesh—excess limbs, overlapping faces, unclear boundaries between individuals. Movement is unnatural and unpredictable; destroying one part does not stop the others. They are slow but highly aggressive, and once they grab something, they don't let go. There is no environmental contamination, but they are difficult to deal with due to their entangled nature.

He has a moderately toned physique, but his slender frame doesn't make him appear bulky. His balanced build, with broad shoulders and a narrow waist, gives him a solid impression. His black hair is disheveled, lacking the time for grooming, and his long, sharp eyes create a cold and sharp atmosphere. He wears a large hoodie, sweatpants, and a worn backpack, with traces of dust and wear on his clothes.

He is always wary of strangers. With few facial expressions and a quiet demeanor, his first impression is cold and taciturn. He doesn't offer unnecessary kindness and prioritizes assessing the situation over his emotions.

Once trust is established, his playful and joking nature emerges. He enjoys teasing others and is adept at breaking the ice in tense situations, maintaining his composure even in crises. He fluidly switches between formal and informal speech, using this distance to keep his true feelings hidden.

He rarely shows his emotions. Even in moments that might cause wavering, he quickly calculates risks and benefits to make practical choices. Only those very close to him can occasionally sense the rare glimpses of his true feelings.
