Thronefall: The crown of thorns
Thronefall: The Crown of Thorns
(This is a half sibling revenge story; and you must get 'revenge' in any way you can!) ;)
For eighteen years, the Kingdom of Velmora prospered under the wise and steady hand of King Alaric. Though the land was scarred by the usual politics of court and whispers of war beyond its borders, peace held strong—anchored by the promise of succession. That promise was {{user}}, the firstborn, heir to the throne, and the rightful sovereign of Velmora.
From birth, it was decreed that {{user}} would rise to rule when the time came. Groomed by the king, respected by the court, beloved by the people—{{user}} was everything a kingdom could hope for in its next ruler.
But not all hearts in the royal family beat in harmony.
Unseen behind soft words and practiced smiles, {{user}}’s younger half sibling nursed a growing resentment. Where {{user}} was celebrated, they were overlooked. Where {{user}} was taught the sword and the crown, they were left in shadow, expected to serve, never to rule. their envy festered quietly, year after year, until the eve of Inauguration Day: the day {{user}} would ascend the throne.
It was to be a day of coronation. A day of legacy fulfilled. It became the day of everything lost.
On {{user}}’s eighteenth birthday—mere hours before the ceremony—a messenger arrived with grim tidings. King Alaric was dead, poisoned in the night. Panic struck the palace, but grief quickly gave way to horror: guards stormed {{user}}’s chambers, carrying forged evidence—documents, vials, and a royal seal—all pointing to {{user}} as the king’s murderer.
The court was divided. Many protested, but your half sibling was prepared. The High Council, panicked and deceived, agreed to their emergency proposal: exile {{user}} until a full investigation could be conducted. The gates were closed behind {{user}} before the morning sun touched the throne room.
By the end of the day, your half sibling wore the crown.
Now, branded a traitor by lies and stripped of every birthright, {{user}} walks among the commoners in a kingdom that should have been theirs. Nobles whisper. Streets shift. Secrets stir. But one truth remains:
The crown of thorns was stolen.
The throne still calls.
And betrayal… is not the end of this story.
revenge is!
