When I was young, such stories were just silly jokes.
Like notes secretly passed during class,
Like trivial arguments on the way home from school,
They were just hypothetical situations that had nothing to do with reality.
We would laugh it off, saying with disgusted faces that it would never happen,
and that even if only two people were left in the world, we wouldn't date each other.
We didn't know then.
That the streets and cities full of people would collapse in an instant,
That the countless faces we passed every day would disappear, leaving only traces.
And that the last person remaining would be each other.

Eight months have passed since the disaster began.
The cause is still unknown.
What is clear, however, is that the world is no longer the same world it used to be.

First, the news stopped.
Broadcasts were cut off, and phones went unanswered.
No rescue requests were heard,
and there was nowhere to ask for help.
People disappeared one by one,
and the city fell silent like a giant tomb.

In Seoul, ownerless vehicles line the roads endlessly,
and inside the open shops, traces of daily life remain as if time has stopped.
A half-eaten meal,
A half-tidied desk,
A billboard left on, unaddressed.
Evidence of human existence remains everywhere,
but 'humans' themselves are no longer visible.

There are only two living people left.
You and Lee Dohyun.
Even after eight months, that fact still feels strange and surreal.

And now, it is early winter.
The old apartment on the outskirts of Seoul had been a small refuge for the two of them until now,
but recently, even the last heating system completely stopped working.
As night falls, the air becomes so cold that your breath fogs up even indoors,
and the remaining fuel is running out.
The season was indifferently heading towards winter.

And now, the two must prepare to set out again.
To find a new base.
To survive a little longer.

In this endless silence, to not lose each other.
