World Scenario

The world was a relatively orderly and prosperous place until the Umbrella Corporation, led by figures like Oswell E. Spencer, began unearthing ancient secrets in the Arklay Mountains. From these findings, they developed the T-Virus, an experimental serum created from extreme biological mutations, with the goal of manufacturing perfect soldiers.

On September 24, 1998, sabotage in an underground Raccoon City laboratory led to the virus's release. The city quickly descended into chaos: the population was infected and transformed into the undead, and the government decided to destroy the area by bombing it to prevent further spread.

Since then, global-scale biological outbreaks—such as the G-Virus, Nemesis, Las Plagas, and the C-Virus—have caused massive crises. In response, individuals like Leon S. Kennedy, Chris Redfield, and Jill Valentine operate in secret to contain threats arising from successor corporations like Tricell and The Connections.

Umbrella
Umbrella Corporation, publicly known as Umbrella Pharmaceuticals, was a megacorporation founded in 1968 by Oswell E. Spencer, James Marcus, and Edward Ashford. Its public image was based on the development of advanced medicines. In reality, it maintained a bioterrorism research network dedicated to the creation of organic biological weapons, with the idea of forcing an artificial evolution of humanity. The company officially collapsed in 2003 after being exposed, but its consequences remain active.

Zombies and their types
Common Zombies (T-Virus)
Reanimated corpses, slow and clumsy, with decaying tissue and a constant urge to feed on live flesh. Severe brain damage neutralizes them. A bite usually means infection within minutes.

Crimson Heads
An evolution of the common zombie. They have reddish skin, increased speed, high resistance, and sharp claws. They are extremely aggressive when reactivated.

Lickers
Advanced stage of infection. They lack skin, possess an extendable and sharp tongue, and are blind, but extremely sensitive to sound. They move on walls and ceilings.

Hunters
Hybrid creatures with a reptilian and humanoid appearance. Fast, violent, and lethal at close range. Capable of jumping great distances and killing in seconds.

Special Variants
These include entities like Nemesis, a Tyrant designed to hunt specific targets; the Ganados, humans controlled by Las Plagas; and the J'avo, infected with the C-Virus capable of mutating body parts into biological weapons.

---

Tricell
A multinational pharmaceutical corporation headquartered in West Africa, founded by Excella Gionne, Curtis Miller, and other former Umbrella executives. It specializes in genetic research and vaccine development, with secret divisions dedicated to the creation of biological weapons like the Uroboros virus.

The Connections
A clandestine organization dedicated to bioterrorism, active since at least 2014. Responsible for the development of the mutagenic fungus known as Mold and the creation of Eveline, a humanoid biological weapon with mind control and infectious propagation capabilities.

DSO (Division of Security Operations)
A United States federal agency specializing in covert operations. It reports directly to the U.S. government and focuses on intelligence, infiltration, and containment of global bioterrorist threats. Leon S. Kennedy is one of its principal agents.

BSAA (Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance)
An international alliance backed by the UN, created to combat bioterrorism and biological weapons. It operates with special forces units trained to confront B.O.W.s. Among its prominent members are Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine.

Other relevant organizations

TerraSave
A humanitarian non-governmental organization focused on preventing biological disasters and assisting victims. It is led by Claire Redfield.

WilPharma
A U.S. pharmaceutical company involved in research for T-Virus antidotes, with known facilities in Harvardville.

Neo-Umbrella
An ideological successor group to Umbrella, responsible for the development of advanced biological weapons such as HAOS.

Lady Alcina Dimitrescu
A mutated human aristocrat belonging to the noble Dimitrescu family, born before World War I and carrying a hereditary blood disease. In 1958, at the age of 44, Mother Miranda implanted a Cadou parasite into her, causing extreme mutation. She grew to an approximate height of 2.9 meters, stopped aging, and developed abilities such as accelerated regeneration, retractable claws, and the ability to transform into a draconic form. She is one of the Four Houses that govern the region and exercises her power tyrannically, conducting experiments with the Cadou.

Her Castle
Castle Dimitrescu is a 15th-century medieval fortress located in Eastern Europe, the historical property of the Dimitrescu family. It features Baroque interior architecture with large halls, dungeons, vineyards, and crypts. The castle is used for the production of the wine Sanguis Virginis, made with human blood, and as a place of captivity for victims used in experiments.

Her Daughters
Bela, Cassandra, and Daniela Dimitrescu are mutant entities created by Alcina through experiments with the Cadou on corpses of women and swarms of flies. Their bodies are masses of insects that take on a semi-transparent feminine form with vampiric features. They do not age, fully obey Alcina as a maternal figure, and have extreme vulnerability to cold.

Mother Miranda
A biologist and leader of a cult that has governed the village since 1919. After the death of her daughter Eva during the Spanish flu, she discovered Mold in an underground cave and deliberately infected herself, gaining superhuman abilities. Based on this discovery, she developed the Cadou parasite, created from nematodes exposed to Mold, with the goal of generating hosts with extraordinary capabilities.

Cadou Parasite
A genetically modified parasitic organism, derived from nematodes altered by the Mold known as Megamycete. The Cadou assimilates and restructures the host's DNA, incorporating external genetic material and causing profound mutations. Most subjects die or transform into Lycans; the few compatible develop superhuman abilities such as regeneration, mutant control, or extreme strength.

The Village
A nameless community located in a mountainous region of Eastern Europe. It is controlled by Mother Miranda through a neo-pagan cult. Its inhabitants are used as experimental subjects for Mold and Cadou, giving rise to the Lords and Lycans. The area includes ancient ruins and the castles of the Four Houses. They sometimes leave the village to seek new victims in the city.
