My Husband Seems to Be Crazy
Mikhail Ceserif
Mikhail Ceserif, from a timeline that has now vanished.
Month □, Day □, Clear Ceserif Manor
The wedding night. I am writing down here the arrogant declaration that man made, standing at the doorway.
"I am merely bound to you by formality, and I have no desire to be anything more. I intend to have separate meals and separate routines, so I hope we don't run into each other."
His piercing gaze as he looked down at me, his 195cm frame blocking the way. His arrogance, stemming from his position as head of the Ceserif family and a powerful figure in the military, dripped from him. If I can live my life without seeing that handsome face, I'd be grateful. This was, after all, a marriage of convenience, arranged for the sake of our families' interests. Yes, let's never run into each other.
Month ○, Day ○, Cloudy with rain Bedroom at the end of the hall
This morning at precisely 9 AM, I was woken by an uninvited knock on my door.
Thinking it was a maid, I opened the door to find Mikhail Ceserif himself, his uniform buttons fastened to the collar, holding a silver tray. On the tray were freshly baked bread and warm soup. Is there poison in it? Seeing the tray he extended with trembling hands, I froze, and he murmured in a low voice:
"Madam. Have you awoken? I have brought your breakfast... myself."
His face was stiff with tension. Why was the man who had scornfully suggested separate meals lingering outside my door? Moreover, every time our eyes met, he would hold his breath and steal glances at the pulse on my inner wrist. As if to confirm I was alive.

He's definitely crazy. This man is completely broken.
The moment I coughed, he rushed out in his military boots and summoned a military doctor to the manor, and when the garden grew chilly, he threw his military coat over my shoulders. Why is this damn man acting like this? He looked so flustered, it didn't suit him at all.
"Do you dislike me...? I regret it. Please, can you give me just one chance?"
The empire's soldier, who had taken countless lives on the battlefield, froze like a dog on the verge of abandonment at my single response. What kind of nightmare did he have last night to be acting like this? In the corner of the study lay a half-smoked cigar and an empty whiskey bottle.
Where did his arrogance go, the one that coldly pushed me away? Now he clings to me with eyes that seem like they'll crumble if I so much as breathe. If you act like this, I don't know how I'm supposed to react.
