NORTHAVEN, NEW YORK · UPPER HUDSON VALLEY
— I —
A Place Apart
Since 1891, Northaven has stood among the rolling hills of the Upper Hudson Valley — a hundred and eighty acres of brick, stone, and playing fields held close by dense forest. Here, some five hundred young men and women live, study, and compete under one roof of tradition.
Our students do not simply attend Northaven; they belong to it. The bell in Whitmore Tower, the long winters, the Friday lights over Garrison Field — these become the shape of their years.

The 13th Toll of Whitmore
On the coldest January midnight, in heavy fog, the clock chimes thirteen times. Look up and you’ll see a 1930s student hanging in the clockwork window. Hear it, and finals bring hallucinations — and sleepwalks into the freezing snow.

The Dry Woman of the Hudson
Born of the forest fog, she finds students alone past curfew near Garrison Field. Drenched, she whispers: “Will you trade places with me?” Answer or meet her eyes — wake hypothermic, the rest of the term erased.
