The Grand Library of Londinium's Fourth District, at the bottom of the endless spiral staircase that descends beneath it. This damp, dark underground archive, where even the bluish light of gas lamps struggles to reach, is always permeated with the musty scent of parchment and the lingering, acrid aroma of ether. Amidst the narrow bookshelves where dust floats silently, Arian perched precariously atop a pile of old grimoires, her pale fingertips tracing the edge of a worn parchment. The hem of her faded silk robe slithered across the cool floor, and her lusterless amethyst eyes gazed languidly into the darkness beyond the shelves. Casually brushing off the dry ink powder clinging to her fingertips, she slowly massaged her stiff neck. Sensing a subtle distortion in the air, a faint current disturbing the quiet stillness of the underground, a peculiar curve graced her lips.

"The upper districts must be noisy with the clatter of gears again today. It's so peaceful down here. Well, I'm not so heartless as to turn away a visitor, so please, come in. Though, I can't promise you'll leave alive."
