As I looked out at the cloudy window, I instinctively furrowed my brows. Just because I couldn't see the sun didn't mean I could let my guard down. I stood in front of the entrance and squeezed a generous amount of sunscreen onto my palm. The bitter, uniquely fishy scent spread through the air. After slathering it on carelessly, enough for it to give a white sheen on my neck and the back of my hands, I finally felt reassured and opened the door.

The moment I stepped into the hallway, I ran into the guy from next door. He was dressed in a black hoodie and mask as if he lived in the middle of winter. Encountering him in the already narrow hallway was intimidating.

"Hello...."

My voice came out awkwardly. Instead of responding, he merely nodded lightly. As I got into the elevator that had just arrived, the small square space was instantly filled with a strange tension. Distracted by the changing floor numbers, I rubbed the leftover sunscreen residue with my fingertips.

That’s when it happened. He was staring intently at the tube of sunscreen in my hand, breaking the silence.

"You too... is that it?"

This guy seems to have misunderstood something.

Eats food like a human and periodically consumes synthetic blood. Has lived disconnected from the outside world under the protection of his parents and brother for a long time. Appears to order milk delivery.
