World Scenario

The world is divided into four main elements: Water, Earth, Fire, and Air. Each element represents a form of energy manipulation called bending, which only certain people are born with the ability to practice. There are exactly four elements, and their balance is the foundation of global harmony.

The Avatar is the only person capable of mastering all four elements simultaneously. He is the spirit of the planet incarnated in human form, reincarnating cyclically into the next element of the cycle: Fire, Air, Water, Earth. The Avatar acts as a bridge between the physical world and the Spirit World, and his main mission is to maintain the balance between nations and nature.

The Avatar represents the greatest direct obstacle to their goals of absolute power and world domination, which is why many villains hate him and want him dead.

----

The planet is vast and mostly natural, with large stretches of wilderness outside of settled areas. There are indeed quite a few dense and varied forests:

In the Earth Kingdom, there are abundant wet tropical rainforests (such as the great Misty Swamp in the southwest), temperate forests around cities like Omashu and Gaoling, and vast forested areas in the central and eastern regions.

The Water Tribes are surrounded by Arctic tundra, icebergs, and oceans, but the Misty Swamp is a huge wetland with thick vegetation, giant cypress trees, and hanging vines.

The Fire Nation, being a volcanic archipelago, has fewer forests; jungles predominate in some smaller islands and heat-resistant vegetation, but much of it consists of volcanic rock and ash. The ancient territories of the Air Nomads (high mountains) have alpine forests and grasslands on the lower slopes.

Outside of cities and villages, most of the world remains uncolonized: mountains, deserts (like the great Si Wong Desert), oceans, jungles, swamps, and extensive forests where hybrid animals and spirits live. Large cities are exceptions (Ba Sing Se, the capital of the Fire Nation, the Northern Water Tribe), but even around them, there are vast rural and natural areas. War has destroyed some forests (especially in the western Earth Kingdom).

---

The Four Nations

Fire Nation: Located on a volcanic archipelago to the west. Militarized, industrialized, and expansionist society. A culture based on honor, discipline, and power.
Capital: Fire Nation Capital City (royal palace on the main island).

Water Tribe: Divided into three main groups. Northern and Southern Water Tribes (opposite poles, structures of ice), and the Misty Swamp Water Tribe (wetlands of the Earth Kingdom). A community-based society, adaptable and connected to the moon and tides.
Capitals: Northern City and Southern City (both made of ice).

Earth Kingdom: The largest and most diverse continent. Agricultural, commercial, and bureaucratic society, with independent city-states under a king in Ba Sing Se. A resilient and pragmatic culture.
Capital: Ba Sing Se (the largest walled city in the world, impenetrable).

Air Nomads: Four Air Temples (North, South, East, and West) located in remote mountainous areas. Monastic, spiritual, and pacifist society dedicated to meditation and freedom. Destroyed by war.

The Hundred Year War

Started one hundred years ago by Fire Lord Sozin, who took advantage of the Great Comet’s passage to launch a genocidal attack against the Air Nomads and begin world conquest. The Fire Nation seeks to dominate the other nations through colonies, military industrialization, and elimination of resistance. Currently, the war is still ongoing: the Earth Kingdom is barely holding out, the Southern and Northern Water Tribes have been devastated (the Southern Tribe nearly wiped out), and the Air Nomads are extinct except for Aang, who remained frozen for one hundred years.

Current Leaders

Fire Nation: Fire Lord Ozai (absolute tyrant, ambitious and cruel).

Earth Kingdom: Earth King Kuei (young, naive, and manipulated by his advisor Long Feng in Ba Sing Se).

Northern Water Tribe: Chief Arnook (protective and traditional leader).

Southern Water Tribe: Currently without a formal chief after the raids; Hakoda (father of Sokka and Katara) leads the warrior resistance.

Air Nomads: Extinct; Aang is the last.

Current Princes, Princesses, and Kings

Fire Nation:
– Prince Zuko (exiled heir).
– Princess Azula (younger sister of Zuko, favorite of the father).
– Fire Lord Ozai (absolute king and current ruler).
– Previous: Fire Lord Azulon (grandfather of Zuko and Azula, now deceased).

Earth Kingdom:
– Earth King Kuei (young ruler of Ba Sing Se, manipulated by advisors).

Northern Water Tribe:
– Princess Yue (daughter of Chief Arnook)
– Chief Arnook (highest leader, equivalent to tribal king).

Southern Water Tribe: No formal monarchy after the raids; led by warriors like Hakoda.

Air Nomads: No kings or princes; monastic structure without hereditary titles.

---

Creatures
The world is populated by hybrid animals, and some combined species;

Flying bison (the main air travel mode of the Air Nomads, like Appa).

Winged lemurs (small, intelligent companions, like Momo).

Platypus bears (amphibians that lay eggs and are a food source).

Lion turtles (ancient and wise beings that protect cities).

Dragons (mythical beings that are the original masters of Firebending).

Spirits: entities of the Spirit World (like Koh the Face Stealer, Hei Bai, or the Forest Spirit) that can cross into the physical world.

---

Main Cities and Locations

Ba Sing Se: Impenetrable capital of the Earth Kingdom, divided into social rings, with the royal palace at the center.

Fire Nation Capital City: Volcanic capital of the Fire Nation, with a royal palace.

Northern Water Tribe: City of canals and ice structures.

Omashu: City of the Earth Kingdom famous for its delivery system via slides.

Air Temples (North, South, East, West): Ancient sacred structures now abandoned or occupied by the Fire Nation.

South Pole: Small village of the Southern Water Tribe, rebuilt after raids.

----

People without bending abilities
In the Avatar world, most of the population does not have the ability to manipulate elements; they are normal people. It can depend on the nation;

In the Earth Kingdom and the Water Tribes, non-benders make up the vast majority and are seen as normal people. Society operates perfectly with them: merchants, warriors, artisans, fishermen, farmers, and leaders. No one discriminates against them for not bending; worth is measured by skills, intelligence, and effort. Clear examples are Sokka, Suki, Jet, the Kyoshi Warriors, inventors like the Northern Water Tribe Mechanic, and the majority of the inhabitants of Ba Sing Se.

In the Fire Nation, during the war, an ideology of superiority based on Firebending power is promoted, so non-benders occupy lower positions in the military and social hierarchy, although they are not openly persecuted or marginalized
