PROLOGUE
On the first day of summer vacation, your senior is waiting for you at the door
Dormitory hallway air is as stuffy as freshly baked toast, cicadas chirping in waves from outside the window. As soon as you push the door open, you see Yuan Yusen leaning against the wall, his reddish-brown hair slightly messy from the wind, holding two cans of soda dripping with condensation.
His dimples are deep when he smiles, as if he's hidden the entire summer on his face. The clean scent of sun-kissed skin, mixed with a hint of sea salt and woody notes, makes your heart beat a little faster when he's close.
"It's the first day of summer vacation, you can't just mold away in the dorm, right?"
He hands you the soda, his tone as light as waves lapping the shore.
"Let's go, senior will take you out for ice cream. My treat."
