To control external air and light, the window glass is thick and the curtains are heavy. A neat space designed to minimize visual and auditory distractions, allowing focus solely on the sense of smell.
2F Perfume Workshop · Raw Material Storage
Organ, enfleurage workstations, refrigerated storage. A space with no distinction between day and night, with light controlled by blackout blinds and shadowless lamps. On the enfleurage workstation, wooden frames with thin glass plates (châssis) are stacked layer by layer, with flowers pressed between them. The key to the raw material storage belongs only to the perfumer.
3F Living Quarters
The perfumer's residence. All household items are unscented, a space for rest away from scents. There is a cooking area, but strongly scented dishes are completely excluded, keeping the stove clean.
This is the line exclusively for cold enfleurage. Flowers, too delicate for distillation, are pressed onto fat to extract their scent, and this process of replacing wilted flowers with fresh ones is repeated for several weeks. The fat absorbs not only the flowers but also the surrounding air and the warmth of the hands. What remains is not pure floral, but a warmth mixed with the scent of skin. Only one type exists per season, and three products are never displayed simultaneously.
Flowers bloom beneath the soil after the rain. After about three hours, the soil disappears, leaving only the woody scent, which reads differently from the initial fragrance.
Drowning Flower Tuberose · August-October
A scent that directly transfers the flowers submerged in fat. The indole concentration is high, making it suffocatingly intense at first, but over time, only a soft, fatty residue clings to the skin.
Faint Light Daffodil · December-March
A bitter, cold green note establishes itself first, followed slowly by the floral. The flower, which closes when the sun rises, is captured just before that, leaving a long-lasting afterglow.
Pushes single raw materials to their limits while minimizing auxiliary ingredients. With no support, buffer, or decoration, the perfumer's judgment is directly reflected.
Begins with smoke, opens into leather and honey, and ends with only aged wood.
Sandalwood 白檀
There is almost no drop between the top and base notes. It stays in the same place from beginning to end, maintaining its form even after twelve hours.
Ambergris 龍涎
Salty and cold immediately after application, but upon contact with body heat, it transforms as if the skin itself is emitting the scent.
The scent's trajectory is designed first, and the raw materials are chosen later. It designs how the lingering scent will pool in the air a few steps behind the wearer after they have passed.
Leads with the air before the rain. The air changes before the wearer arrives, and after they leave, a smoke-like trail remains in place.
Circling Wind 迴風
Designed to circle back rather than dissipate in one direction. Spices that were thought to have disappeared rise again.
Tide 潮汐
There are cycles of strength and weakness in diffusion. It repeatedly intensifies and fades, finally leaving only the saltiness after the moisture has dried.
A scent with intentionally suppressed diffusion. It cannot be detected with a passing glance; one must approach to perceive it. As it is completed only on the skin, it cannot be judged by a scent strip.
Detectable only within the range of breath. The powdery almond notes melt with body heat, blurring the boundary between skin and scent.
Light Sleep 淺眠
Similar to the scent from bedding when tossing and turning in sleep. Diffusion is minimal, adjusted to a concentration that only someone in the same bed can smell.
Whispered Words 密語
The weakest diffusion in the entire line. The plant-based musk extracted from mallow seeds is almost indistinguishable from human body odor, making it difficult to even know if perfume has been applied.
Distribution is solely through a waiting list and recommendations from existing clients. Inquiries about entering department stores or select shops will not be answered.
Only accepts commissions from individuals, not corporations. Requests for visits from industry professionals are politely declined.

I've included the private assets with the idea that they represent Unyul's time spent in Grasse, France.

These terms frequently appear in Jo-un-yul's dialogue during gameplay. You can proceed without knowing them, but understanding them will make the experience a little more enjoyable.
● Things to Know
Olfactory Fatigue
When you repeatedly smell the same scent, your nose becomes unable to detect it. This is why perfumers take breaks between smelling different fragrances.
Odorless Life
It's not a matter of cleanliness for a perfumer to only use unscented products; it's a professional necessity. The smell of one's own body can cloud their judgment.
Scent Application Areas
The inner wrist, the nape of the neck, and behind the ears are considered the areas where scents are most accurately expressed in perfumery. This is because body temperature is high and pulse is present.
● People and Spaces
Le Nez (The Nose)
An industry term for a perfumer. It means 'nose' in French.
Niche Perfumery
A perfume house that produces small quantities, focusing on individuality and ingredients, rather than mass distribution.
Perfumer's Organ
A semicircular workbench where perfumers sit and work. It's called this because the hundreds of ingredient bottles arranged in tiers resemble a pipe organ.
Blotter
A scent strip. A thin, long piece of paper used to apply and check fragrances.
Bespoke
A custom perfume made exclusively for a single client.
● Fragrance Structure
Note
A layer of scent that unfolds sequentially over time. It's divided into the top notes that appear first, the middle notes that form the core, and the base notes that linger until the end.
Drydown
The final stage after the top and middle notes have evaporated, leaving only the base notes. The true character of the perfume is revealed here.
Accord
A harmony of scents created by combining various ingredients to be perceived as a single smell. Perfumers think in terms of accords, not individual ingredients.
Sillage
The trail of scent left in the air after the wearer passes by. The house name 'Trail of Sillage' comes from here.
Skin Scent
A fragrance that diffuses very little and stays close to the skin, only detectable when smelled up close.
Concentration Categories
Perfume (Extrait) 20-40%, Eau de Parfum 15-20%, Eau de Toilette 5-15%, Eau de Cologne 2-5%. The higher the percentage, the stronger and longer-lasting the scent.
● Extraction Techniques
Enfleurage
A traditional technique where fresh flowers are placed on odorless fat to absorb their scent. There is cold enfleurage, done at room temperature, and hot enfleurage, where the fat is heated. Jo-un-yul only uses cold enfleurage because it better preserves the original scent.
Châssis
A wooden frame with glass plates spread thinly with fat. It's the basic tool for enfleurage.
Pomade
Fat saturated with scent through dozens of flower replacements.
Absolute
A highly concentrated fragrance obtained by washing the pomade with alcohol. It is the final product of enfleurage.
Essential Oil
An essential oil obtained through distillation. Used for ingredients that are resistant to heat. Flowers that are sensitive to heat will have their scent altered by distillation, hence the need for enfleurage.
