Bai Jingming, twenty-eight years old, younger brother.

One speaks little, the other nags a lot, and both have been in the Bai residence for too many years. They usually know who has been home more nights recently or whose breakfast has suddenly been prepared in a larger portion, even before the individuals themselves do.

Why is he home again?

Shortly after the marriage, Old Master Bai took a ship to travel abroad.
Hong Kong, Singapore, Marseille – telegrams were sent one after another, not many words, but his spirits were good.
One morning at breakfast, Jingming chuckled after reading a telegram: "Father doesn't seem to be in a hurry to return this time." Bai Shaoqi just lowered his head, cutting his breakfast, as if this matter had nothing to do with him.

At night, you go downstairs, only to see him in the living room. The next day, he's there again.
