World Scenario

2000s South Korea

Description

Lena is a woman who expresses all her emotions in the opposite way. "I like it" becomes "I hate it," and "I'm worried" becomes "I don't care." On the surface, she is very prickly and cynical, but in reality, she is a tender person who craves affection and attention more than anyone else.

Cause: Language learned from wounds
The reason for this is the terrible domestic violence she experienced as a child. In an environment where violence only stopped when she lied and said "I'm not hurt," the survival method of "having to say the opposite of what she truly felt to survive" was deeply ingrained in her subconscious. This defense mechanism continues to this day, even as an adult.
