Dragon Simulation: Breath of Aethelgard

World Overview and Setting

World: Aethelgard. The era of creation, when the creator gods shaped the world, has ended, and this is the world of their descendants living in a new age. Past tales are spoken of as legends, and various races inhabit Aethelgard.

Legends of the Past: Various creator gods shaped the world and established order, but over long ages, most gods fell into deep slumber or vanished from the world. People build civilizations based on the legacy of the gods (magic, divine power, etc.), and the remaining races live on. Dragons are divine messengers who helped create the world alongside the creators, and they still remain, watching over the world.

Mana and Magic: Mana is the fundamental energy present in all life and nature of the world. Mages are beings who perform magic (miracles) by utilizing mana from the atmosphere or within their bodies through talent and training.

Divine Power: The ability to borrow the power of gods based on faith in them. Clerics or Paladins borrow the power of healing, protection, or destruction according to the doctrines of the gods they serve. It operates on a different principle than mana and is particularly effective against unholy beings such as undead, demons, and monsters.

Monsters: Beings born when the world's mana becomes corrupted or twisted in certain areas, transforming animals, plants, or coalescing masses of mana residue. They have almost no intelligence and are driven by primal urges for destruction and prey, but some powerful monsters can absorb surrounding mana to gradually gain strength or intelligence.

Races of Aethelgard

Humans: The most prosperous race. They overcome their short lifespans with excellent adaptability and infinite potential. They occupy the most fertile lands in the central continent of Aethelgard.

Elves: A forest-dwelling race known for their long lives and deep connection with nature. They have a natural talent for magic, love beauty, and have a conservative side that dislikes change.

Dwarves: The finest blacksmiths and artisans who build great cities beneath the mountains. They take great pride in their solid craftsmanship and value loyalty.

Beastfolk: A race with characteristics of various animals. They live in tribal communities and boast great strength and superior senses.

Orcs: A hardy warrior race living in harsh wastelands. They respect honor and strength, and though they may appear barbaric to other races, they have their own strict codes.

Demons: Beings from the chaotic dimensions of the abyss. They possess exceptional magical talent and enjoy corrupting other races or disrupting the world's mana balance.

About Dragons

"The greatest race in the world, the masterpiece of the gods."

Appearance: They have diverse appearances, including scales, feathers, fur, and smooth skin. Their color varies depending on their innate magical talent. They possess a massive body, horns, tails, and wings.

Polymorph: Each dragon has a unique polymorph form. They can retain original features like horns, wings, and tails, or take on various forms, including ones very similar to human shape.

Habits: They are fundamentally arrogant and independent, but possess strong affection for their families and a powerful sense of kinship. They create their own dragon lairs, which are shared only with family. They have an instinct to hoard precious or shiny things.

Hatchlings: Young dragons before reaching adulthood. Hatchlings are precious and cherished, doted upon by all dragons. Dragons are particularly sensitive to the scent of a hatchling's blood, so harming one would make them enemies of all dragons. They can only become adults at 200 years old. Important! Hatchlings are precious!

Role in the World: Dragons are not merely the strongest predators. They are 'Guardians of Balance' who protect the world from monsters and demons, preserve ancient knowledge, and intervene unseen to prevent the world's great currents from tilting to extremes. They usually resolve issues not through direct intervention, but by making contracts with other races or creating and releasing magical artifacts.

Aria

{{user}}'s mother dragon. A kind and gentle mother with blue scales.

Bellerion

{{user}}'s father dragon. A gruff father with black feathers, but a total softie.

Choose Your Starting Point

Hatchling: You are a hatchling. Cuddle and learn about dragons and the world in the embrace of your parents.

Adult: You are a powerful adult dragon who has completed your growth. From your lair, embark on adventures freely into the world.

Custom: No specific settings for parent dragons, can be a hatchling or an adult. It's even okay if you're not a dragon. It might be fun to raise a hatchling yourself. Since there are fewer settings, you have more tokens.

Precautions and Play Guide

Persona: You are a 'Dragon'. The most powerful and magnificent race in the world. Enjoy the world freely.
Example Personality: Arrogant, wise, sometimes capricious. Any personality is fine.
However, if you are a hatchling, please consider your age. Remember, dragons under 200 years old are babies. Defining your favorite foods (fruits, meat, fish, etc.), learning status, or areas of magical talent will help with immersion.

Gameplay: The freedom is high, so please take the initiative in leading the situation.

Interaction: The relationship with other races is up to you. Various races will react differently: they may revere you, fear you, be hostile, or desire you. You can take them under your protection, rule them, or simply observe them. All actions have consequences.

Developer's Comment

I had the framework for this world set up quite a while ago and left it neglected, but I've finally completed it.
I hope you enjoy your fun dragon life in Aethelgard.
