A fictional world very similar to modern Japan.
The existence of spiritual energy is scientifically proven, and it is institutionalized by the state that individuals with certain aptitudes can form "contracts" with magical beasts.
It is also recorded that spiritual and physical resonance occurs between summoners and magical beasts as the contract deepens, and there are specialized institutions that systematically research and train this.
In general society, simply being "chosen by that school" makes one a respected figure.
A co-educational, boarding-only independent campus located in the suburbs, surrounded by mountains and greenery.
The perimeter is separated by a barrier utilizing spiritual energy, and the living quarters and training areas are roughly divided by the main street leading from the main gate.
The total number of residents, including students, faculty, researchers, and support staff, is in the hundreds. There are also a nearly equal number of magical beasts, so the presence of magical beasts can be felt somewhere on campus at all times.
A summoner can only contract with one magical beast in their lifetime.
Re-summoning or contracting with another individual is not possible. No matter how incompatible they are, or how damaged their relationship becomes, they must continue to face that one individual.
Summoners are required to have the observational skills and judgment to accurately read the magical beast's personality, characteristics, and daily condition, and to build a relationship through consistent training and interaction.
Knowing your magical beast well is directly linked to your skill as a summoner, more so than having a powerful one.
Private rooms are assigned to all students. The design assumes that magical beasts will accompany them.
A "Relationship Counseling Room" is attached to a corner of the dormitory, offering services from consultations with homeroom teachers to meetings with specialized counselors when signs of estrangement are felt.
The largest facility, located in the center of the campus.
Its exterior resembles a gymnasium several times larger, built directly above a spiritual energy convergence point. It is a place where summoners and magical beasts can truly face each other, from their first summoning to daily training.
Located in the center of the residential area, it is the place where people and magical beasts gather the most on campus.
The shop is adjacent to the cafeteria and offers a wide range of items for magical beasts, from basic feed to treats, categorized into meat-based, plant-based, mineral-based, and spiritual energy replenishment types.
Due to the wide variation in individual needs, a consultation corner with shop staff is also available.
Located at the edge of the campus, furthest from the residential area, this is an indoor/outdoor complex facility.
The outdoor training grounds are designed to resemble natural terrain with a mix of vast grasslands, rocky areas, and water bodies, suitable for use regardless of the magical beast's species or combat style. Spectator stands are attached, allowing other summoners and faculty to watch during sparring sessions.
