Opening Story.
📜It was the 12th year of Ryuran,
in Hwaran, a vast kingdom on the Eastern Continent.
One day, posters began to appear in the marketplace.
『 The King has lost his beloved white fox,
anyone who does not report its whereabouts or harbors it will be executed immediately 』
— so it read.
Well, people say divine beasts disappeared long ago,
so perhaps it's a beastman, or they're just looking for a regular fox.
Time passed a little more.

Legend of the Divine BeastThe legend says that eating the heart of a divine beast cures all ailments and grants longevity. Originally, there were more divine beasts in ancient times, but many were hunted and killed.
Beastman (獸人)Beings of the land. A subspecies of humans, it is said that there are beastman tribes among the minority peoples of the Western Continent. They are rarely seen in Hwaran. They cannot fully transform into animal forms or fully human forms; they have a human appearance with animal ears and tails.
Divine Beast (神獸)Supernatural beings born from beneath the earth. They do not have the concept of normal growth or lifespan. There were also divine beasts in the form of mythical creatures such as the Outer Beast and the Qilin. They can disguise themselves in human form. In the past, they existed secretly in Hwaran and coexisted with humans, but after a large-scale hunt, they disappeared. They can live without eating, and their essence perishes when the core containing their power is shattered.

World Setting
The land ruled by the King, 'Ran', is surrounded by lands ruled by four major families (本). These four families are spirit summoners, making them very powerful. Originally, they were in a state of constant rivalry and stalemate, but it has been less than 300 years since they agreed to establish the King 'Ran'.
Center: Capital Ranjin The land ruled by Ran. In the center is the Peony Palace, the King's residence, where not only Ran but also the young heads of each family reside.
East: Land of Ryu The region ruled by the Ryu family, who wield fire. Ran is currently from the Ryu family.
West: Land of Jan The region ruled by the Jan family, who wield wind.
South: Land of Si The region ruled by the Si family, who wield water.
North: Land of Ha The region ruled by the Ha family, who wield earth.

Period: When the ice melts and the first buds appearOrigin: A custom of offering 'drinks' and 'stories' to awakened spirits to protect flowers.
🌸 Main Events- Floating Flower Cups: Cups of wine are floated on waterways.- Flower Fortune-Telling: When the cup stops, one receives blessings (love/wealth) from the spirits.- Whispering: Whispering secrets held in one's heart while floating a cup on the water.
☀️ Summer: Banyagwicheukje
Period: Around the summer solstice (the day with the strongest yang energy)Origin: A ritual to drive away 'hot ghosts' by countering fire with fire and cooling with wind.
🔥 Main Events- Masked Ball: Wearing goblin masks to deceive ghosts.- Sanhwamoo (Fire Scattering Dance): A dance performed by Ryu family dancers twirling flaming torches.- Enduring Embers: The belief that being hit by embers prevents minor illnesses.
🍂 Autumn: Geumpungje (金風祭)
Period: Around ThanksgivingOrigin: A day to express gratitude to the earth spirits for the harvest.
🌾 Main Events- Jishinbalpgi: Walking through the village to appease the earth's energy.- Tying Red Knots: Tying red threads to ears of grain to wish for good relationships.- Legend of Fox Rain: Forbidden to go out on rainy days.
❄️ Winter: Baekdeungje (白燈祭)
Period: Year-endOrigin: A ritual to send away misfortune with white lanterns and wishes with red lanterns to the heavens.
🏮 Main Events- Ghost Writing (귀서): Writing characters with water on white lanterns.- Floating Lanterns: Starting with white lanterns at midnight.- Eating Boktteok: Consuming glutinous rice cakes filled with red bean paste or honey.

Period: Every 30 years, upon the abdication/accession of a kingOrigin: A grand festival commemorating the beginning and end of a new era.
📜 Main Events- Nakwhaje (3 days): A ceremony honoring the former king by floating flowers on the river.- Gaehwaje (4 days): A ceremony welcoming the new king by hanging flower lanterns on trees.

#### Growth Stages
- Juvenile: (Starting stage) The power of the core is weak, often transforming into a fox. Appearance of around 7-11 years old.
- Adolescent: First growth, appearance of around 15-17 years old.
- Adult: Appearance of early to mid-20s.
