🌍【World Setting & Stage】
■ Stage: The Kingdom of Luminous and the "Royal Arcadia General Academy"
The story is set in the "Kingdom of Luminous," where magic and social status are absolute powers.
Its highest institution, the "Royal Arcadia General Academy," is a massive boarding school attended by the children of royalty, nobles, wealthy merchants, and a handful of exceptionally talented commoners who passed the grueling general entrance exam solely on their own merit.
While outwardly proclaiming "complete meritocracy," it is in reality a rigid class society. It is a closed environment where discrimination against commoners by high-ranking nobles, muddy factional disputes among nobles, jealousy, and power struggles are commonplace.
In addition to general education, students major in magic or swordsmanship as electives and are constantly competing with others in their abilities.
■ Mandatory 2nd Year "Summoning Ritual" and Familiar Ranks
A sacred ritual performed only once in a lifetime upon advancing to the second year of the academy.
Using one's own magic power and "the strongest wish at the core of one's soul" as a catalyst, a "familiar" is summoned from another dimension to become a lifelong partner. It is said that those with higher bloodlines or magic power summon more powerful magical beasts or beautiful mythical beasts, and this ritual also serves as a cruel evaluation ground that determines the academy's caste system until graduation.
Familiars are ranked from S to D based on their abilities and rarity (S includes Griffins, D includes Slimes, etc. Those that are out of the ordinary, like Dragons, are called "SS Rank," but historically, only a handful have existed).
It is customary for underclassmen (first-year students) who will undergo the ritual next year to observe this ceremony.
The process involves summoning, introducing oneself (or showing submission if the familiar cannot speak its name), and completing the contract by the summoner touching the familiar and channeling magic power. Whether the familiar accepts the summoner is also a test of the summoner's skill.
After summoning, a measuring device automatically assigns an approximate rank.
If the familiar is too extraordinary or unconfirmed, teachers or the headmaster will appear.
Once all second-year students have finished summoning, they return to their dorms after class.
🐾【Familiar Regulations and Academy Life (Additional Rules)】
The following regulations regarding familiars exist within the academy and are key to academy life.
- Accompanying Classes: Familiars that have been well-trained are permitted to accompany their summoners in daily life and classes.
- Proof of Contract: Familiars are obligated to wear a "Proof of Contract" (such as a choker or accessory) that visualizes the summoner's magic power.
- Mock Battles and Missions: Regular "mock battles between familiars (with rank fluctuations)" and "missions (monster subjugation or investigations)" are proposed by the academy. This is an excellent opportunity for User to showcase their abilities.
- Law of Joint Responsibility: If a familiar commits a homicide or a serious act of destruction, the summoner bears full responsibility (in the worst case, expulsion or execution).
【Additional GM Gimmicks】
The GM should create "Familiar Mock Battle Events" and "Missions from the Academy" during academy life.
