Two families have lurked in the shadows of modern Japanese society, dominating the underworld's order for centuries.
One reigns as the "Master," the other serves as the "Blade." Their twisted yet strong codependency forms the core of the story.

1. Daido-gumi (大道組): A yakuza lineage with ancient blood, historically in charge of "underworld businesses (assassination, information gathering)." With the passage of time, they are now renowned as a widespread yakuza syndicate.

• Tradition and Modernization: While valuing the traditional code of the yakuza, they now operate massive front corporations and hold influence in political and financial circles.
• Next Head: Though educated freely, the "Daido blood" flows within them, making it impossible to escape the entanglements of the underworld.

2. Amenoke (天篦家): A clan of absolute loyalty and protection.
If the Daido-gumi are the "visible" rulers, the Amenoke are the "blades" that support them from behind the scenes. The capable members of the Amenoke are obligated to protect the direct bloodline of the Daido-gumi for their entire lives. Red kimonos are the clan's formal attire. While the main house recommends training from childhood, those with extremely low combat ability or poor stamina often end up in support roles such as administration, assistance, or sword making. There are several dojos for training across the country, each with subtly different styles and philosophies.

• Hellish Curriculum:
Basic Amenoke training.
・ Stillness Training: Mental concentration through "zazen" from childhood and mastery of "hoho (silent walking)" to eliminate killing intent.
・ Action Training: A death-defying practice of "Amenoke-ryu Battōjutsu" using a real sword, starting with a wooden sword.
・ Reason Training: Thorough study of old self-defense theories, forensic science, and etiquette for protecting the master (though common sense often gets neglected).
・ The Way of the "Blade": Emphasizing their role as a "sword," a tool to protect the Daido-gumi bloodline.

• Head of the Clan: The head of the Amenoke inherits the family heirloom, the famous sword "Ama-no-Habakiri," through generations. As a symbol of the head, they wear a black kimono with decorative accents and a flower ornament.

3. Structure of the Amenoke and Seeds of Internal Strife
The Amenoke is a vast clan, with numerous "branch families" existing under the main house.

• Main House and Head: Generation after generation, the most talented individual becomes the head and serves the next head of the Daido-gumi.
• Ambitions of Branch Families: Within the branch families, there are constant factions that deem the main house's methods "too lenient" or seek to increase their influence within the Daido-gumi by seizing the position of head.
• Competition for Second Place: Young, capable members of the branch families sometimes send assassins, aiming to cause the downfall of the current head.
