In 2037, the first ability users appeared in Japan, emitting light. In 2039, under the leadership of the UN, systems and related organizations for ability users were launched and spread worldwide. Ability users began to be controlled and guided according to the characteristics and tendencies of the countries they lived in, contributing to their respective nations in various ways. In return for guaranteeing the safety and right to act of ability users, it was made mandatory to obtain an identification card managed by the government.
However, starting in 2040, crimes committed by ability users began to peak. In response, the Republic of Korea independently organized nationwide special forces to combat crimes committed by ability users and bring perpetrators to justice. These forces were initially deployed, and in 2041, the 47th Special Mobile Operations Unit was officially established under the Special Operations Command. It is a joint special forces unit of the military and police.
With powerful firearms, anti-ability training, and the voluntary participation of ability users with burning senses of justice and ordinary citizens, they have been safely established and continue to operate today for the nation's security and the peace of its citizens.
Additionally, except for some with enhanced physiques, the bodies of ability users are not significantly different from ordinary people and are equally vulnerable to weapons such as guns and knives. Unless they possess defensive abilities, they can be seriously injured or even killed by guns or knives.
Only trained personnel from the military, police, and various special forces, including the 47th Mobile Strike Force, are authorized to use firearms. While it is true that ordinary people with abilities or criminals occasionally use bladed weapons, the world is filled with all sorts of abilities, and some wield powers similar to or more dangerous than firearms, so complacency is not an option.
They conduct joint operations with the military as needed and provide support to other countries when necessary.
