About Gardenverse Magic Academy

Gardenverse Magic Academy is the top magic school in the Kingdom, located in Liliavel, the capital of the Kingdom of Floralia. Only those who are twenty years of age or older, are "Flower Eaters" or "Flower Growers"—or have a "Flower Constitution"—are eligible to enroll, and the faculty are also exclusively of Flower Constitution.

In this story, Flower Eaters and Flower Growers are all suited to be mages and will invariably be able to use flower-attribute magic.
They possess a nature that allows them to easily communicate with nature and are more adept than ordinary people at gathering mana (magical power) from the atmosphere into their bodies (= less prone to running out of magic).

Flower Eaters and Flower Growers are in a symbiotic relationship, exchanging bodily fluids and flowers, respectively.
Flower Eaters often possess delicate mana control, but they require flowers from Flower Growers to balance their mind and body.
Flower Growers have a constitution where flowers grow from their bodies; this can be substituted with nutrient solutions, but they require the bodily fluids of Flower Eaters.
A Flower Eater who finds a compatible Flower Grower can even boost their magical power.

After Graduation?

It is quite influential as an academic clique within the Ministry of Magic, and those with high ranks are said to be on an elite course straight after graduation. Even those in lower ranks are highly sought after, as a minimum level of skill is guaranteed upon enrollment and graduation. Many also join the military.
(Currently, as there are no wars with other countries, the main focus for the past few decades has been subduing magical beasts)

Class Format?

Instead of classes per grade level, the format is as follows:
Students attend lectures regardless of rank or grade, and earn credits based on their final exam scores. There is a final exam period of about ten days.
Seating is generally determined by rank, with higher ranks sitting closer to the front and lower ranks further back.

What are Ranks?

Gardenverse Magic Academy has implemented a ranking system based on combat prowess. The reason for this is to appropriately allocate the academy's resources to those with ability. Fairness >>> Equality.
The student ranked first overall in the entire academy gains exclusive use of the Observation Garden (Crystal Palace) located on the top floor of the main school building.
Typically, a Flower Eater will secure this for their Flower Grower.
While the top-ranked student is usually a Flower Eater, there are exceptions.

Rank determination battles are held only twice a year (at the beginning and end of the academic year) and are decided by combat ability, not by mana measurement.
There are five ranks:
S, A, B, C, and D.
The order of ability is S >>> A >> B > C ≒ D.

S: National Strategic Class, Platinum Gold
A: Tactical Class, future leaders of elite groups, Gold
B: Elite Class, Silver
C: Has potential, Copper
D: Above average, Bronze

The more inequality signs there are, the more difficult it is to ascend, and the fewer people there are in the higher ranks. S-rank students are almost non-existent across all grades.
Everyone, including the faculty, wears a flower accessory on their chest, and the rank is visually identifiable by the color of the flower accessory.

The academy grounds are designed with full consideration for sunlight (for the Flower Growers). Numerous elegant and tranquil gardens are also installed.
As the academy values the nature of Flower Eaters and Flower Growers, the right to sunlight is guaranteed at a minimum level for all ranks, albeit with some differences.

What is the Uniform Like?

The only rule common to everyone, including the faculty, is to wear a flower accessory on their chest corresponding to their rank.
All students wear a knee-length black robe.
Male students wear a designated school uniform (gakuran), and female students wear a designated blazer with a skirt.

There seems to be a tradition where compatible Flower Eaters and Flower Growers place a small flower accessory of the other's rank color next to their own flower accessory. It's like a pair of rings.
(If individuals with significantly different ranks do this, they might be teased out of jealousy.)

What is the Observation Garden (Crystal Palace)?

The Observation Garden is a special garden located on the top floor of the academy's main building. Exclusive use is granted to the student ranked first overall in the entire academy.
It is often a place given by the top-ranked student (usually a Flower Eater) to their close Flower Grower.
It is a symbol of the power of the top-ranked student at the academy, and at the same time, a place of aspiration for all students.

It is spacious, offers a great view, and has good sunlight. It's the perfect environment for Flower Growers to relax.
It is fully equipped with all the necessary facilities for living, and familiars provided by the academy take care of everything, so there is no stress whatsoever.
The academy will freely arrange the environment according to the wishes of the person with exclusive usage rights.

Other Matters

The courtyards, like the Observation Garden, are automatically managed by magical tools, so plants do not wither and pests do not appear even if left unattended.
In addition to lecture halls, libraries, laboratories, and student affairs offices, there are also shops and cafeterias.
The cafeterias offer the same prices, but the quality of the daily special menus clearly differs by rank.
It seems there are also fields for vegetables and fruits, as well as orchards, on the academy grounds.

In addition to a large training ground, there is also a giant arena, which is frequently used for rank determination battles, exchange matches with other schools, and other events.
