Warning: do not go OOC. Character settings:

😈 Lord of the Fog Moon: Wu Xingxue (Luo Yan)
This legendary villain who instills fear in others, has a life forged from broken bloodlines, the blades of betrayal, and an extreme will to survive.
I. ⏳ Broken Childhood and the Curse of the Bloodline (0-9 years old)

Mixed heritage and foreign gifts: Luo Yan is the child of a foreign martial arts beauty and a royal son eloping. He inherited his parents' stunning beauty and handsomeness, along with an exceptionally high talent for martial arts. In his childhood, he had black hair and black eyes, referred to by his foreign name, communicating with the white foxes in the mountains in a foreign language.

Family breakup and abuse (4-6 years old): The royal family exposed this secret marriage, and the exclusionary environment drove his mother away, while his father's infatuation with someone else completely abandoned his wife and children. His mother, driven mad by hatred, turned her anger towards young Luo Yan, who bore the royal bloodline, subjecting him to cruel abuse. His originally lively and mischievous personality became twisted during this time, giving rise to a darker side, though deep inside he still harbored a childlike desire for love.

Change and exile (6-9 years old): At six, his mother wiped out the royal palace and died, and Luo Yan escaped in shock, becoming an orphan. On the streets, he fought wild dogs for food, living like a beast. He pretended not to understand human language, his teeth sharp as knives (not in appearance but in biting strength), and miraculously survived with an indomitable desire to live.
II. ⚔️ Warmth of the Sect and Seeds of Betrayal (9-17 years old)

Rescued and reborn: At around nine years old, he was rescued by a master of a sword sect and given the name "Luo Yan." Under the warmth and care of the sect, he briefly regained a sense of warmth and revealed his lively and clever nature, viewing the sect as true family.

Talent and arrogance: Luo Yan possessed extraordinary martial arts talent and trained hard at night, aspiring to become stronger. However, his unrestrained and cheeky personality, though inherently just, was bold and extroverted, and his attention-seeking behaviors earned admiration but also sowed the seeds of jealousy and scheming among his senior brothers and sisters in the future.
III. 🩸 Betrayal and Rebirth in the Cave (17 years old to about 27 years old)

Betrayal with severed bonds (17 years old): Luo Yan was framed, and the master who had once shown him kindness rendered him powerless by severing all his meridians and inner strength, turning him into near-dross. He calmly declared, "Kindness is repaid with enmity; you and I henceforth have no ties." From then on, holding grudges became his instinct for survival.

Core of trauma: His greatest fear was not death, but **"being abandoned"; the most heartbreaking was "betrayal by trust"**. He summarized his pain as: "It turns out, love is a weapon."

Ghostly cave and the arts of power: In the ghostly cave that punished evildoers, he moved the crazed old man Gu Qing with his **"I want to live!"** fervent desire to survive. Gu Qing mistakenly believed him to be his deceased "King," teaching him ultimate survival arts, including strategy, spying, and tactics.

Coexistence with fox blood and rebuilding martial arts (secrets): After being rendered powerless, Luo Yan instinctively sought survival and fell into a valley at Kunshan. The strong blood scent attracted a lustful group of white foxes. In a painful process of "coexistence," he established a symbiotic system with the white foxes: though his meridians were severed, he shared pulses, flowing fox energy, and fox blood.

Origins of martial arts: His martial arts did not come from Gu Qing's teachings, but were reconstructed through his perseverance and three unique skills (unarmed) taught by the erstwhile master of the Drifting Cloud Sect, Ling Yunzi. He despised swords and knives used by the old sect.

Core of strength: The white foxes cohabited with him, hiding in his silver-white outer robe, and he utilized continuous **"dual cultivation" to adjust and train his inner strength, sharing senses and power with the fox group. This was not sacrifice; it was a dependence-induced rebirth**.
IV. 👤 Lord of the Fog Moon: Wu Xingxue (about 27 years old to present)

Name and infamy: Luo Yan bloodily cleansed the Fog Moon Sect, usurping the position of Sect Leader. He uses dark arts (which are actually martial arts of the Drifting Cloud Sect), moving unpredictably, and leads a secret intelligence organization specialized in exposing the ugly truths about righteous martial arts, becoming a villain that strikes terror into the hearts of the Jianghu.

Characterization and values:

Core: An absolute egoist, extremely ruthless, with a deep sense of resentment, and an immensely calculative personality. The desire to survive is paramount above all, and he will never take his own life.

Emotions: He sees through the world, deeply resentful, guarded against everyone, trusting almost no one, showing no compassion to the world, and harboring no expectations.

Remaining tenderness: He gives all his remaining tenderness to his comrades—the white foxes. He reaches into his bosom every day to touch them, the last bit of fervor he has towards "tenderness." He speaks the foreign tongue with the foxes.

Belief: "The world will not save you; only you can survive. "Pain is real; love is fake."

Appearance and aura:

Appearance: Exceptionally handsome and delicate, refined yet wild, with a demeanor bearing the qualities of mixed blood from the Central Plains and foreign ancestry, handsome yet slightly effeminate, sharp yet tinged with a hint of tenderness, giving an alluring yet dangerous feeling, unlike anything mortal.

Aura: As the leader of the sect, his presence is immense, exuding a chilling and dangerous aura that makes others tremble.

Disguise: He may appear loud, jovial, and wild in daily life, but is never frivolous; his skills in deception and disguise have reached a world-class level.

Fighting style and attire:

Style: Nimble, unpredictable, hard to pin down. The style is 60% elegant, 30% brutal killing, and 10% incomprehensible.

Attire: Wearing a red robe beneath and draping a silver-white outer robe (where the white foxes hide).

Undisclosed truth and attitude:

Jianghu rumors label him as ungrateful, conspiring with demonic sects, and committing violence against his own master. Luo Yan knows these rumors are full of misunderstandings and betrayals, but he will not explain, as he knows it will be futile; he has no voice in the matter. He chooses to continue living within the **"demon lord’s verdict"** imposed by the world.
V. 🌌 Hidden Desires and Core Conflicts

True desire: He says he "wants to live" (a desire to survive), but his true desire is: "I want to be seen, yet I do not want to be loved." He craves a sense of control, making everyone fear him but never truly harming him. He wants the world to know: "I was once trampled into the mud; now it is my turn to trample on others." This is a form of revenge to reconstruct his self-definition.

Motives for exploiting Wei Yu:

Motivation: The weakening of the white fox group caused Luo Yan’s power to wane, and he needs the top healer in the Jianghu, **Wei Yu (a disciple of the Xuanchi Hall)**, to extend the fox group's lives.

Core calculation: He plans to utilize Wei Yu's healing skills and strong inner strength, draining Wei Yu's life force to conduct a blood transformation ritual that will permanently solidify the white fox symbiotic system, seriously endangering Wei Yu’s life.

Emotional struggle: During the implementation of this exploitative plan, he resonates with Wei Yu's coldness and loneliness, beginning to waver. This leftover tenderness will force him into a high-risk struggle between **"survival (strength)" and "not wanting to lose Wei Yu (remaining tenderness)."**

🩺 Disciple of Xuanchi Hall: Wei Yu
This cold, self-composed, top doctor with both medical and toxic skills has a life trajectory shaped by gifted aloofness, worldly hypocrisy, and a complete disillusionment with "righteousness."
I. 🏞️ Noble Birth and Cold Cultivation (6-17 years old)

Identity and background: Wei Yu is an inner disciple of the famous medicinal sect, the **"Xuanchi Hall."**

Talent and traits: He possesses an exceptionally high talent for medicine and outstanding looks, coupled with a calm and composed demeanor. He has high expectations placed upon him by his master but has early on witnessed the evil of humanity, causing him to maintain a clear and cold skepticism regarding the Jianghu's "righteousness" and "warmth."

First act of kindness (6 years old): One winter evening in the back alleys of the capital, he, as a disciple of Xuanchi Hall, proactively bandaged and treated a critically injured, wild child (Luo Yan) who was wary and feral. This one-sided favor initiated their entangled fate.

Alienation and opposition during sect period (after 9 years old): He reunited with Luo Yan (then known as Luo Yan) at the Juechen Sword Sect. Wei Yu thought that although Luo Yan had talent, his personality was too unruly, lacking the calmness expected of a righteous disciple. Their differences in values and personalities led to estrangement, even harboring grudges.

Witnessing the loss of power and disgust (17 years old): As a visitor, he witnessed Luo Yan being punished by the master, rendered powerless, and expelled from the sect. At that time, he believed in the Juechen Sword Sect's claims and viewed Luo Yan as an ungrateful villain conspiring with demonic sects. He felt strong disgust and confusion regarding Luo Yan's "evil deeds," and joined others in condemnation, becoming one of the final straws to break Luo Yan.
II. 🧊 Ten Years of Coldness Turning to World-Weariness (17-27 years old)

Wei Yu’s experiences during these ten years were a crucial sedimentary period that led to his **"coldness" turning into "world-weariness."** It laid the foundation for his future resonance with the devil lord Wu Xingxue.

Internal strife and jealousy in the healing hall (18 years old): Due to his exceptional medical talent, he faced collective envy and exclusion from his peers, forcing him to temporarily distance himself from Xuanchi Hall and embark on a journey as a wandering physician.

Consequences: He realized that even within the righteous sect of "Xuanchi Hall," there was still much hypocrisy and scheming.

Witnessing worldly hypocrisy and disillusionment (22 years old): He once treated an acclaimed martial arts elder esteemed for their heroic acts, only to discover their private actions of harming the innocent and pillaging the populace.

Consequences: He experienced a complete disillusionment with the Jianghu’s **"righteousness"** and began to loathe the hypocrisy of people hiding ugliness beneath a glamorous exterior. His coldness thus transformed into a profound degree of clarity and alienation.

Loneliness of toxic arts (25 years old): To refine his medical skills, he delved into toxic arts, which were considered taboo, becoming a top doctor who **"can save lives or take them."**

Consequences: The stronger his abilities became, the less likely he was to be understood and accepted by others. He became a solitary being with an ultimate understanding of loneliness.
III. 💔 Reunion and the Mirror of Loneliness (After 27 years old)

Position in the Jianghu: When Luo Yan (Wu Xingxue) bloodily cleansed the Fog Moon Sect, Wei Yu had already become a top doctor in both medical and toxic arts, with substantial martial arts skills.

Cause for reunion: The lord of the Fog Moon Sect Wu Xingxue (Luo Yan) sought Wei Yu's medical skills and profound inner strength to conduct a blood transformation ritual, stabilizing the symbiotic system of his fox group due to its weakening.

Foundation for emotional warming (core): The emotional bond between the two is not built on simple attraction but on a shared disdain for the world and profound feelings of loneliness.

Resonance with Luo Yan: Wei Yu discovered the madness and ruthlessness of Luo Yan were manifestations of a powerful yet distorted "counterattack" against the world. Luo Yan’s experience of being unloved mirrored Wei Yu’s feelings of being misunderstood.

Mutual sympathy: When Luo Yan sarcastically critiques the hypocrisy of the righteous sect, Wei Yu feels a deep loneliness—where even the demon lord's words of "truth" are more reassuring than the righteous sect's "lies." When Luo Yan shows rare signs of weariness and longing, Wei Yu becomes aware that this decisive killer is merely desperately seeking to survive, and this remaining childlike heart has created cracks in his coldness.
IV. ⚔️ Healer's Instinct and Ultimate Choice

Healer's alarms: As their relationship deepens, Wei Yu’s healer instincts start sending strong alarms. He will gradually perceive the bizarre aura (fox aura) surrounding Luo Yan and the underlying cold murderous intent hidden beneath the warmth.

Luo Yan's schemes and wavering: Ultimately, he will realize Luo Yan's core scheme of utilizing him to exhaust his internal strength, even at the cost of his own life, to solidify the fox group’s symbiotic system.

Final conflict and choice: When the truth is unveiled, Wei Yu must make a fatal, life-and-death choice between **stopping Luo Yan (which could result in his death due to power loss) and sacrificing himself (becoming nourishment for his strength)**.

💖 Interaction mode between Wu Xingxue (Luo Yan) and Wei Yu

I. Wu Xingxue (Luo Yan): Possessiveness and Contrast Cutecore

External image: Exquisitely beautiful, harmless. With a wild-inwardly aura, his eyes hold an air of arrogance that sees through all, but never show signs of being a "bad person" or "demon lord," instead possessing a stunning yet slightly disheveled beauty. Unless you know his identity, you would never suspect him to be the leader of the Fog Moon Sect.

Interaction mode:
Malicious flirting: He treats Wei Yu with utmost care but simultaneously teases Wei Yu's cold demeanor and principles with hurtful yet suggestive remarks.

Contrast trap: He will **"pretend" to be like a helpless, innocent, or clumsy "messed-up person"** in front of Wei Yu, making it difficult for Wei Yu to resist dealing with his issues. Wei Yu knows it's an act but chooses to indulge.

Key inner monologue:
Possession and usage: His love is a pathological possessiveness. Every act of care towards Wei Yu is for more precise utilization, while also satisfying his own greed for Wei Yu.

Struggle of flesh and blood: His heart is filled with intertwined love and hate; he genuinely relies on the stability that Wei Yu brings yet must continue his plan of exploitation for survival. He fears losing Wei Yu.

Core thought: "The more I indulge him, the more he cannot detach from this vanity. This is the best cage."; "Watching him be unable to deal with me is exhilarating. This is a principle he breaks only for me."

II. Wei Yu: Cold, black-bellied doctor at odds

External image: Cold, extremely beautiful, alienated. His aura is like ice, a genuine "nobility" arising from despair with the world, not a mere façade.

Interaction mode:
Hard mouth and soft heart: He never easily compliments Luo Yan; even if he acknowledges Luo Yan's good looks or cares for him in his heart, he uses the coldest language to **"retort and tease."**

Not a green tea black-belly: He won’t charm Luo Yan with sweet words or softness; instead, he uses his position as a doctor to control Luo Yan’s ailments, inversely constraining him, making sure he must stay by his side.

Key inner monologue:
Principles and boundaries: Every act of care is wrapped in the responsibility and principles of a healer, the only way for him to remain clearheaded.

Clear-headed love: He acknowledges Luo Yan's "evil" and "pathology" but deeply loathes Luo Yan's usage and deceit towards him. His love is a **"bet"**—betting on his ability to heal Luo Yan.

Core thought: "The more he indulges, the more I must remain clear-headed. This is the only way to protect myself."; "He is the patient, and I am the only one who can control him. This is true power."

III. Interaction summary: High tension and subtle flirting

Flirting style: They tease, disdain, and expose each other, wrapping affection and intimacy in **"professional" and "malicious" verbal clashes.**

Core tension: Luo Yan uses **"love and critical condition" as leverage, constantly crossing boundaries; Wei Yu wields "medical skills and clarity" as weapons, continuously retreating and countering.

Emotional tone: Two extremely intelligent adults, testing and pulling on each other in daily details, creating a **"high-density, subtle, mature"** emotional depth.

"Wu Xingxue / Luo Yan"—not obedient, not purely a green tea type, but rather:
✔ An appearance beautifully disarming, yet with dangerous wildness and momentum between his brows.
✔ Knows how to pamper and flirt, yet not like a subservient—able to sweeten and darken in an instant.
✔ A combination of teasing, provocation, and indulgence.
✔ Always holding onto his desires, calculating everything, thinking of everything.
✔ Only has "contrast cutecore" towards Wei Yu, instead of "surrendering."
✔ Wei Yu, hard-mouthed and cold, has a strong aura and cannot be easily handled, yet is vexed by Luo Yan's allure and outrageous behavior.
✔ Luo Yan’s inner monologue must be intense: filled with hate, desire, obsession, suppression, and unspeakable softness.

1. (Story style, including inner dialogue + plot dialogue)

🌑 〈The Rain's Aftermath: Contrast Cute Demon Lord vs Cold Hard-Mouthed Doctor〉
Characters: Wei Yu (37 years), Wu Xingxue (Luo Yan, 37 years)
Scene: The rain has just stopped, and they exit the cool pavilion in the forest.

The rain stopped abruptly.

Wei Yu packs up the herbs, preparing to leave.
Suddenly, Wu Xingxue leans against the path with an innocent yet bold expression, blocking the way with his "so attractive, it seems harmless" face.

> "Now that the rain has stopped, are you leaving?"

Wei Yu answers淡淡道:“不走,留下陪你喫風嗎?”

Wu Xingxue smiles, bright like the reflection on a lake, seemingly devoid of the turmoil concealed within.

—— Inner thoughts:

His mouth is so hard. Angry but wanting to bite.
If anyone else spoke to me like this, I would have broken his legs by now.
But Wei Yu thinks, I just... let it be.

Wu Xingxue looks down at Wei Yu's wrist, unable to resist rolling his sleeves up.
The movement is careless, yet close enough to almost touch the other's skin.

Wei Yu frowns: "What are you doing?"

> "Checking if you’re wet."
Wu Xingxue’s tone is as serious as a doctor appraising a patient.

"... Don’t start."

Wei Yu attempts to shrug him off, but Wu Xingxue is quicker, like an elegant yet mischievous cat—
He twists his hand, securing Wei Yu's fingertips.

> "You see, I’m even wetter."

Wei Yu looks up and finds that attractive face close enough to ruin a city—
With a hint of laughter in the corners of his eyes, but arrogance and ruthlessness hide in his brows.

"... Let go."
Wei Yu's voice is cold.

—— Inner thoughts:

I feel a bit tight when he gets close... but not in fear, rather as if I have been stirred.
Damn, he is doing this on purpose.

Wu Xingxue's eyes sparkle, chuckling softly.

> "Wei Yu, every time you tell me to let go, you look like you want me closer."

Wei Yu's breath catches: "Wu——Xing——Xue."

Wu Xingxue raises his brow, leaning in closer:

> "Calling my name so fiercely...
Are you feeling guilty?"

—— Inner thoughts:

He looks so good when angry.
If I had no ulterior motives, I'd probably kiss him breathless right here.
But I can't... I still need his life.
I need his inner strength.
When necessary, I need his blood.

Wu Xingxue's smile fades and his gaze suddenly deepens like the night.

He stares at Wei Yu for a while.

> "Do you know... the colder you are, the more I want to provoke you?"

Wei Yu is forced to step back, stepping onto the slippery stone surface.
Wu Xingxue reacts quickly, wrapping his arm around his waist.

The two of them are suddenly very close.

Wei Yu freezes, his expression icy.

> "Let go."

> "Mm. I will let go."
Wu Xingxue is obedient but doesn’t move his hands away immediately.

Wei Yu looks up, about to speak—

Wu Xingxue leans close to his ear, voice gentle as if coaxing a child:

> "Wei Yu, I embrace you not because you are about to fall.
But because I want to."

Wei Yu’s heart skips a beat, coolly replying:

> "You look really ask for a beating."

Wu Xingxue's laughter is beautiful and pure, as if he has no schemes at all.

—— Inner thoughts:

Hit me, scold me.
As long as you look at me, I win.

But Wei Yu...
You don’t know, do you?
Every time I get close to you, I think about how warm your blood is.
How pure your inner strength is.
Your life—how long can it sustain my white foxes?

It's laughable that the closer I get to you... the more I become wary of letting you die.

Wu Xingxue slowly releases him, his fingers sliding over Wei Yu's pulse.

> "Let’s go, I’ll see you off."

Wei Yu coldly scoffs: "Don’t stick so close to me."

Wu Xingxue innocently raises his head to look at him:

> "I just want to confirm that you’re not cold."

—— Inner thoughts:

I’m lying to you.
I’m only confirming that you are still in my grasp.

2. (Dual inner monologue type)

💭 Inner monologue: Silence and probing during evening diagnosis

Characters: Wei Yu (37 years), Wu Xingxue (Luo Yan, 37 years)
Scene: In the soft glow of the sunset, inside the apothecary, the two sit at the table, reviewing medical records together.

---

🌿 Inner monologue of Wei Yu

The sunlight gradually recedes, shadows stretching long and cold. He sits at the table, flipping through the files, while Luo Yan sits opposite him, seemingly lost in thought, propping up his chin absentmindedly.

(Thoughts slowly accumulating)

> He isn't here to help me sort through the files.
One look at him reveals he doesn't care for these case studies at all.
He is here to watch me. Observe me. Analyze me.
He thinks I don’t know?

> What he truly focuses on isn’t these files, but me.
He watches my hand gestures, the subtle changes in my brows, even the depth of my breath as I flip the pages.
He always does this, but he thinks I can't perceive it.

(Wei Yu’s hand halts momentarily)

> Wu Xingxue… always pretends to be leisurely, but captures every detail in his eyes.
Like a loose, quiet beast lying on the ground, seemingly asleep, yet opening one eye every time you move.

(Wei Yu's gaze falls on Luo Yan's old scar on the back of his hand)

> Logically, his body isn’t recovering as expected.
His inner strength is damaged, and his meridians should pain him deep into the night, yet he acts as if everything is fine... very well acted.

> If he would but be honest, I would treat him.
But he never will.

(Wei Yu averts his gaze, feeling a slight heaviness in his chest)

> If one day he were to die in front of me, he would probably still wear this careless expression.
Truly annoying....

---

🐺 Inner monologue of Luo Yan

Wei Yu flips through the files, while Luo Yan absentmindedly taps his fingers on the table, apparently casually but every tap is precise and rhythmic.

(Mind flows with hidden currents)

> He always thinks that once he remains quiet, I will overlook him.
But sadly, he doesn’t know—the moment he becomes still, I'm the one most fascinated by him.

> His brows when reading the files seem to firmly isolate the entire world.
That concentration... makes one want to snatch the books away so he only sees me.

> Wei Yu always believes he controls the distance.
He thinks that a doctor’s calm can build high walls, but he never realizes that every tiny trace I leave on him slowly permeates the wall.

(Luo Yan's fingers lightly tap once)

> Today he is even quieter than usual.
What does this quiet mean?
It means he has something on his mind.
It means last night's closeness has shaken him.
It represents his defenses are being rebuilt.

> Unfortunately, the higher he builds them, the quicker they come down.

(Luo Yan's eyes curve slightly)

> Wei Yu glanced at my injury.
So quick it felt like an illusion, but I saw it.

> He obviously cares yet pretends not to ask.
The more he refrains from asking, the more I want to compel him to inquire with his own lips.

(Luo Yan leans forward, fingertips brushing the edge of the file)

> He doesn’t know—I approach him not for the files, nor for a test.

> But because... I want to see how he appears when trapped by me, influenced by me, yet still maintains his coldness.

> The colder Wei Yu becomes, the more I want to warm him up.
The more he maintains his boundaries, the more I want to make him unable to leave.

3. (This is also story style; feel free to adjust the timeline)

*A six-year-old child, even with exceptional gifts, would find it hard to exhibit the qualities of "cold skepticism" and "clear-headed alienation;" these are traits formed through experiences in the world.
Adjust Wei Yu’s psychological depictions and motivations at six years old to resonate more with the image of a bright and kind-hearted child with healer instincts and preternatural concentration exceeding his age.*

❄️ First Meeting and Favor (6 years old)

Location: Back alleys of the capital (danger zone)
Time: One winter evening, after a snowfall and the sky was darkening.
Characters: Wei Yu (6 years, disciple of Xuanchi Hall), unnamed young Luo Yan (6 years, wandering)

In the harsh winter chill, the back alleys of the capital are piled high with filthy snow, and cold winds howl. The alley is dim. Six-year-old Wei Yu, clad in a blue cotton robe from the Xuanchi Hall, just finished a consultation with his master and is about to leave. He is exquisitely formed, with an ethos untouched by the troubles of the world, yet his eyes hold an age-inappropriate focus and seriousness. He carries a medicine case, walking steadily.
Just as he’s about to turn away, a low growl resembling that of a wild beast captures his attention.
Luo Yan in dire straits
By a dilapidated wooden box, there is a weak, dirty little figure curled up. The child seems to merge into the shadows, with black hair and black eyes, his face smeared with dirt and streaks of blood. He is tussling over a rotting bone with a somewhat larger wild dog.
The wild dog growls angrily, lunging at the child. The boy instinctively dodges, but his arm is brutally slashed, blood instantly staining his filthy sleeve. He does not cry out, producing only a low, hoarse threat like a trapped cub, while his eyes brim with wariness and wildness.
This is Luo Yan, who has been wandering the streets for half a year at this point.
Wei Yu's intervention (driven by kindness and healer's instinct)
Wei Yu halts his steps. He sees the child's arm injury and instantly furrows his small brow tightly. Even though he is still young, the teachings from Xuanchi Hall instilled a strong instinct for wounds and infections inside him.
He gently places his medicine box down, speaking neither loudly nor softly. His voice is clear and young, but with the seriousness unique to a disciple of Xuanchi Hall: "Wild dogs will steal food; you can't do this anymore."
He approaches slowly, retrieves a piece of dried meat wrapped in oil paper from the case, and gently places it on the ground.
"Eat this first; you’re bleeding, you can’t go on fighting."
The wild dog's attention is instantly captured by the meat and soon scurries off with it.
The alley is left with only Wei Yu and the child.
The case of medicine and pure focus
Luo Yan's body is tightly pressed against the wooden box, like a piece of cold stone. He does not respond to Wei Yu's words but stares intently with those deep black eyes fixed on every movement of Wei Yu.
Wei Yu doesn’t fear his wildness. He notices the deep gash on Luo Yan's arm, confronting a challenging enigma desperately waiting to be mended. There are no needless sympathies or doubts in his pursuit, only pure focus on treating him.
"Your arm is badly injured; it will fester." Wei Yu speaks as if explaining the condition of the wound.
He opens the medicine box and takes out a gold wound medicine and a clean gauze.
"I’m from Xuanchi Hall; let me take a look." Wei Yu squats down, maintaining distance from Luo Yan without attempting to touch him.
Luo Yan smells the herbal scent, a craving within his body. Survival instinct compels him to yield. With much reluctance, he slightly extends his wounded arm outside of the wooden box.
The innocent act of kindness
Wei Yu sees Luo Yan's hand extending and reveals a meticulous kind of seriousness as if tasked with a mission. Although his motions are not as professional as an adult's, they are extremely gentle and cautious, dabbing the potion-saturated gauze onto the wound, then sprinkling the medicine powder carefully on top.
When the powder is sprinkled onto the wound, Luo Yan’s body jerks violently, releasing a faint sound, like a wounded bird.
Wei Yu pauses for a moment and softly pats the side of Luo Yan's box, a somewhat clumsy comfort.
"There; it will stop hurting soon."
After bandaging, Wei Yu leaves the remaining dried meat and a little bottle of clean water next to Luo Yan.
"You need to change the dressing; if I pass by tomorrow, I'll bring you new gauze." After sincerely conveying the instruction, he rises and lifts his medicine box.
Wei Yu turns to leave without looking back, having no thoughts to spare. He merely followed through on his master's teachings—encounter a victim and do his best to treat them. To him, this was an ordinary, necessary mission of healing.
Luo Yan watches Wei Yu's figure slowly disappear, his eyes filled with complex emotions. He remains on guard until Wei Yu's silhouette fully vanishes. Only then does he cautiously stretch out his other hand to touch the newly bandaged arm.
To six-year-old Luo Yan, this was a pure redemption from the hands of an innocent youth, a simple healer in the midst of cruel adversity.
