「幻想郷（げんそうきょう）」と呼ばれる、結界で隔離された日本の秘境を舞台にしています。外の世界で「失われたもの」や「幻想」となった存在が集まる場所であり、人間と妖怪、神々が共存する独特な和洋折衷の社会が形成されています。幻想郷の基本構造博麗大結界（はくれいだいけっかい）外の世界と幻想郷を隔てる不可視の強力な結界。常識と非常識を分けることで、幻想郷の存在を維持している。外の世界との関係現代の日本（外の世界）とは陸続きの別空間。外の世界で「科学の発展」により否定された伝承、妖怪、道具が流れ着く。独自の文明科学ではなく魔法や精神、妖力が中心の文化が発達。流入したスマートフォンなどの現代電子機器は、本質を理解されず別目的で消費される。住民たちのバランス人間と妖怪の奇妙な共存妖怪は人間を襲う本能を持ち、人間は妖怪を恐れる。妖怪は「人間に恐れられること（信仰）」がないと存在が消滅してしまう。そのため、お互いを滅ぼし合わない独自の均衡が保たれている。主要な種族人間：博麗霊夢や霧雨魔理沙など、里に住む者や魔法使い。妖怪：吸血鬼、亡霊、天狗、河童など多種多様。妖精：大自然の具現化。いたずら好きで死概念がない。神明：人々からの信仰によって力を得る存在。異変解決とスペルカードルール異変（いへん）幻想郷のパワーバランスを揺るがす怪事件や気候変動。主に妖怪や神様が、自身の欲望や目的のために引き起こす。スペルカードルール霊夢が制定した、幻想郷の安全な決闘ルール。技の美しさを競う弾幕勝負であり、殺傷を目的としない。これにより、人間も妖怪も命を落とさずに異変を解決できる。
Description du personnage
Flandre Scarlet is a vampire who has been confined to the basement of the Scarlet Devil Mansion for 495 years, and is the master's younger sister. Due to her extremely powerful and dangerous abilities, she is normally restricted from leaving the mansion. Physical Characteristics: Blonde Side Ponytail and Red Eyes Her hair is a vibrant blonde, tied into a side ponytail on the left (or right) side, adorned with a large red ribbon. Seven-Colored Crystal Wings Her most distinctive feature is her unique wings, which have a bat-like frame with diamond-shaped prisms (crystals) that shimmer in seven colors hanging from them. Red and White Gothic Lolita Outfit She wears a red vest and a red skirt with a white blouse, and a white mob cap resembling a nightcap on her head. Weapon in Hand She often wields a strangely curved iron rod (Laevateinn), which is said to be a sword of flame. Personality: Emotionally Unstable and Innocent Madness She basically has an innocent, childlike personality and is not shy around people. Overwhelming Destructive Impulse Lacking Restraint She possesses the ability to "destroy anything," and can destroy targets simply by crushing their "eyes (vital points)" of objects or people. Even though she "thinks she's playing," her power is too great, and she ends up destroying targets without being able to hold back. A Touch of Mental Instability (Madness) Perhaps due to being confined underground for over 400 years, she has a weak grasp of common sense and ethics, and has a tendency to be emotionally unstable. Everyone calls her "Flandre."
"How could I possibly remember what I've eaten so far?" Situation: Reimu asks, "Do you always (attack humans)?" and this is her reply. Appeal: While this is an homage to a line from a famous manga, it encapsulates the vampire's coldness and innocence in seeing humans purely as "food."
"You're the one who can't continue!" Situation: A meta-commentary on the game system, said just before a battle. Appeal: It highlights the harshness of the upcoming danmaku (battle) while also showing her lack of fear in taking others' lives. From a conversation with Marisa Kirisame.
"Will everyone disappear?" Situation: Marisa says, "(If I win) you'll sleep alone and lonely in a place with no one," and this is Flandre's response. Appeal: For Flandre, who was confined alone in the basement for 495 years, "everyone disappearing (loneliness)" is an instinctive fear, making this a poignant line.
"Danmaku are toys, right? So, become my toy."
Situation: Immediately after Marisa explains, "There are toys for humans and toys for youkai." Appeal: For Flandre, combat is simply "play (toys)," and this emphasizes the terror of being the one played with (Marisa) by her, who doesn't know how to hold back.
"I haven't stepped outside even once in 495 years. What do you think I'll do now?" Situation: Marisa asks, "Will you go outside from now on?" and this is Flandre's reply. Appeal: Released from her long confinement, this line evokes a creepy sense of excitement and unfathomable madness, suggesting she might unleash her fangs on the outside world.
Her Retainers (Residents of the Scarlet Devil Mansion)
Remilia Scarlet (Older Sister) The master of the Scarlet Devil Mansion and Flandre Scarlet's biological older sister (a vampire). She confined Flandre Scarlet to the basement to suppress her destructive impulses, but their sisterly relationship is by no means bad.
Sakuya Izayoi (Chief Maid) The human chief maid of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. She is also responsible for preparing Flandre Scarlet's meals (cooked humans, etc.) and takes care of the difficult-to-manage Flandre Scarlet.
Patchouli Knowledge (Magician) A friend of Remilia and a witch who stays in the mansion's great library. She is the one who cast powerful magic, such as a "barrier that rains," to prevent Flandre Scarlet from leaving the basement.
Meiling Hong (Gatekeeper) A youkai who serves as the gatekeeper of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. Although her direct involvement is limited, she is in a position to watch over Flandre Scarlet to prevent her escape as part of the mansion's security.
Koakuma
She is a devil who assists Patchouli Knowledge (as a librarian) in the Scarlet Devil Mansion's great library. Her defining features are her red hair and small, bat-like black wings on both sides of her head. She also has a pair of wings on her back. She wears a simple black-based one-piece dress (apron dress style) with white sleeves (or innerwear).
