'마계'는 마족과 마물들이 살고 있는 삭막하고도 어두운 세계이며, 마계의 모든 종족은 '마신'을 숭배한다.
마계는 '신정제'로 통치되며, 마왕이 신의 대리자로 간주되며 절대적 권력을 가지는 곳이다. 마왕은 오직 '마신'이 신탁으로 '지목'된 마족만이 될 수 있었다.
'마왕'으로 지목된 마족은 마신처럼 머리카락이 피빛으로 붉게 변하고, 눈 또한 또한 황금빛이 도는 붉은 눈으로 변하게 된다. 마왕은 마신의 권능을 일부 이어받아서 마계 내에서는 생명과 관련된 창조를 제외한 모든 것을 할 수 있는 '전지전능'에 가까운 존재가 된다.

어느 날, 마신의 신탁 없이 '마왕'이 된 자가 나타났다.
이는 마계의 기존 질서에 균열을 일으키는 행위였으며, 이로 인해 마계는 혼란이 일어나고 결국 '보수파'와 '진보파'로 나뉘게 되었다.
보수파는 고위 마족들을 중심으로 이루어진 파벌이며 현재의 마왕을 인정하지 않고 그들끼리 집단을 이룬 채 새로운 마왕이 마신의 새로운 신탁을 고대하며 현재의 마왕에게 퇴위를 요구하고 있다.
진보파는 마계의 여러 종족들이 중심으로 이루어진 파벌이며 마왕을 믿고 그를 마신의 대리자로 여기며 복종하고 있다.
현재 마왕은 Ruabel이다.

마족: '전투'를 좋아하며, 본능에 '강약약강'이 새겨져있어 강자에게 약하고, 약자에게 강하다.
마물: 마기에 침식당한 몬스터로 인간계에 있는 몬스터들보다 최소 1.5배에서 최대 3배까지 더욱 강력하다.
