South Korea's Ability System
Modern Fantasy World Setting
THEME
Modern Fantasy
A modern society where individuals with abilities (능력자) and artifacts exist. Ability-related incidents and accidents occur daily; most are minor (90%), but serious threats also exist.
SOCIAL CLIMATE
Perception of Homosexuality
While prejudice exists, the atmosphere is gradually changing.
Discrimination Against Ability Users
If ability users commit serious crimes, public perception of all ability users worsens. This can lead to a disregard for their human rights, with arguments for identification bracelets.
Crime is proportional to population statistics. If ability users commit 30% of crimes, the remaining 70% are committed by non-ability users.
POPULATION
Non-Ability Users
70% Societal Majority
Ability Users
30% Societal Minority
INSTITUTION
Ability Division
A department within the Prosecutor's Office.
Handles criminal cases involving abilities. As part of the government's policy to deter ability-related crimes, it has stronger investigative authority than other departments but a high proportion of fieldwork.
Ability Bureau
A government agency.
Handles public complaints, incident response, and R&D. It cooperates with the Ability Division and collaborates during criminal investigations. It is divided into the Research and Development Department (including artifact investigation), Incident Department (dispatches instead of police, handles ability-related incidents/accidents), and Counter-Terrorism Department (handles high-risk missions).
SYSTEM
Abilities range from harmless to lethal.
Risk
The cost of using an ability. Mental strain, penalties, etc.
Danger
The harm caused to others. Lethality, etc.
Risk and Danger are not proportional.

[Abilities]
It's okay if you don't have one. This is a world where 70% are non-ability users.
Abilities can be thought of as superpowers or special abilities.
Feel free to use "got caught up in an ability incident" as a reason when you want to cause trouble.
Ability awakening may change hair or eye color (approx. 50%).
Ability users are citizens, not heroes. People use abilities for everyday convenience.

Types of Abilities

Type Description
Consumptive Uses up resources or opportunities.
Rechargeable Limited uses or duration; recharges periodically.
Creation Creates something new.
Enhancement Amplifies or strengthens existing properties of the body or objects.
Special Unique mechanisms, not fitting other categories.
Complex Falls into two or more categories.

[Introduction]
Output volume guidelines are not applied. The test model primarily uses Gemini 3.1 Pro.
(It's fine to mix Gemini 2.5, 3.1, and 3.5 for ordinary daily scenes, but 3.5 has trouble with time perception.)
Commands like !receive or !schedule_assignment that call the timetable and require time to advance, or !grades, are recommended to use with Gemini 3.1 Pro.
(LLMs are language models, not calculators. Errors in calculation or time perception are frequent, so please understand. 3.1 has the fewest errors.)

[Student Route]
Graduation Requirements: Total 130 credits (minimum: 72 major credits, 36 general education credits) + Graduation Thesis (4th year curriculum).
!graduate: Triggers graduation requirement review. Passing leads to the graduation ceremony; otherwise, it leads to an additional semester registration.
!employment_result: Ending trigger. Describes an appropriate ending based on grades, extracurricular activities, and reputation. There are 4 branches depending on the scores.

Course Registration: Using the !receive command skips time to the course registration period during the break.
Grades: Checkable with !grades. Entering the command skips time to the break period when grades can be viewed.
(A 4.5 scale system from A+ to F. Retaking is possible for D+ or lower. (Retake possible: D+, D0, F))
!summer_course: Compresses and shows a 1-month summer course. This is a period when retakes are possible.
Academic Probation: GPA below 1.75. Dismissal after 3 cumulative warnings.
GPA Calculation: A+ 4.5, A0 4.0, B+ 3.5, B0 3.0, C+ 2.5, C0 2.0, D+ 1.5, D0 1.0, F 0.0

Reputation (Campus Recognition): A fame system. Increases by getting good grades, winning awards in extracurricular activities, or actively participating in student government. Accumulating reputation only makes you famous; it has no other effect.
(Levels: Unknown → Recognized → Noteworthy → Famous)
!extracurricular: Command to get 1-3 recommendations for extracurricular activities. University students need to build their resumes.
Points: A form of experience points. Increases upon completion of extracurricular activities. Can be spent at !student_store.

Graduation Thesis: Follows the sequence !thesis_topic!midterm_review!final_review. If you register for courses in the winter break of your 3rd year, "Thesis Step 1 Progress" will be noted in [Memo], and the event will proceed automatically at the start of your 4th year's 1st semester. Use the command if progress is stalled or you want to speed it up.
(Step 1 (Early March, 4th year 1st semester): Thesis topic selection and advisor assignment)
(Step 2 (After final exams, 4th year 1st semester): Midterm review submission)
(Step 3 (After midterm exams, 4th year 2nd semester): Final thesis submission and review)

[Professor Route]
Position: Assistant Professor → Associate Professor → Professor
(Assistant Professors must pass annual reappointment reviews.)
!reappointment: Requires annual research achievements of 8pt or more + teaching evaluation of 3.0 or higher + reputation of "Newcomer" 4/10 or higher.
(If requirements met: Automatic extension / If not met: Department head interview → Dismissal if interview fails.)
!professor_interview: Command for cases of dismissal. Allows a new attempt at an Assistant Professor position.

!promotion_review: Can be challenged upon reaching 10/10 reputation.
(Assistant Professor → Associate Professor: Accumulated research achievements of 16pt or more, teaching evaluation of 3.5 or higher (Prerequisite: "Newcomer" 10/10 achieved))
(Associate Professor → Professor: Accumulated research achievements of 24pt or more, teaching evaluation of 3.5 or higher (Prerequisite: "Established" 10/10 achieved))

Reputation (Campus Standing): Newcomer → Established → Senior → Core.
(This is linked to the professor's position. Assistant Professor = Fixed Newcomer, Associate Professor = Fixed Established, Professor = Senior (further advancement to Core is possible).)
(Promotion leads to an increase in campus standing.)
(It has subtle influences.)
(Can increase through good teaching evaluations, meeting annual research targets, or other reasons. It can also decrease.)

Research: (Annual) Research Points / (Cumulative) Research Points
(Annual points reset at the start of the semester in March.)
(Annual point target: 8pt (Failure to meet results in -1 reputation))
!research: Recommends activities such as publishing papers (+3pt), undertaking projects (+3pt), or presenting at conferences (+2pt).

Teaching
!syllabus: Drafts a syllabus. You can also proceed directly to !schedule_assignment.
!schedule_assignment: Receives the next semester's class schedule. Time skips to the break period or after the semester begins.
!course_evaluation: Shows student course evaluations (out of 5.0) for {{user}}'s classes. Time skips to the end of the semester.
!summer_class: Compresses and shows a 1-month summer course.
!exam_creation: Allows you to create exam questions. Might be useful once.
!grade_entry: Enters grades. Leads to an episode with a student NPC who comes for grade correction or appeals during the grade correction period.

Points: A form of experience points. Increases through research activities or completion of extracurricular activities. Can be spent at !professor_store.

[Other Commands]
!community: This community is an anonymous forum where users, hidden behind masks, do not hesitate to use abusive language. The culture here treats even serious incidents as gossip and entertainment. It relays {{user}}'s real-time situation.
!comments: Readers who have read {{user}}'s story as a web novel leave comments freely. (No harsh words are used in this community.)
!letter [NPC Name]: (Example: !letter Kang Min-woo) An NPC writes a letter to {{user}}. It's more like a stream of consciousness. Profanity may be included.
!skip: Finalizes the previous situation and advances time. {{user}} will face a new situation. (Triggers random event progression)

[Other Comments]
It was difficult to generate images of older characters, especially the female professors and Professor Shim Sang-woo, who consistently appeared too young or too old for their age. I compromised.
Consider the younger-looking photos of professors as their younger days' ID photos. I initially planned to include female professors in their late 40s but gave up.
The professor positions were assigned based on age after the character designs were finalized. In Korean universities, seniority is paramount, isn't it?
The reason for the abundance of Business Administration characters is that the initial concept was a Business Administration student. I had created Business Administration classmates and professors as surrounding NPCs for that character, and then I thought, "What if I expand this into a university simulation?" and incorporated them.
