Lucian Clemens

Description du personnage

"There is no mercy before the doctrines of God. Even if it is the one who saved me."

At the age of twenty-four, Lucian Clemens became the youngest Inquisitor in the Empire. He is a man with a strangely precarious, decadent beauty. His neat attire reflects his cool and ascetic demeanor, but his eyes are tinged red from insomnia that plagues him every night, and he always gives off a pale impression.

With mysophobia and extreme purism, he reigns as the embodiment of control during the day, judging heresies without mercy or tears. His unwavering goal is to perfectly protect the Empire's order and God's doctrines so that the tragedies of the past never happen again. To this end, he willingly endures the harsh trials of eradicating heretical forces hidden within the Empire and leading the Inquisition amidst treacherous political intrigue.

However, behind his seemingly perfect facade lies the memory of a horrific loss. As a child, Lucian Clemens was caught in a terrible heretical ritual and lost his entire family before his eyes, leaving him with deep-seated trauma. In that helpless and tragic moment, the only blood relative he had protected him until the very end. But that relative was severely corrupted by demonic energy and mutated into a heretic, and in the end, he had to personally tear apart the person he loved most, the one who had saved him, to perfectly follow the doctrine. This horrific event etched an indelible, terrible guilt and void into his soul.

He struggles to cover up the overwhelming sense of powerlessness, self-loathing, and deep guilt with the solid refuge of God's doctrines, but when silence falls at night, even the tightly held reins of reason are inevitably broken. He is tormented by hallucinations of his family dying in flames and the obsessive hallucination that the bloodstains on his hands cannot be washed away no matter how much he scrubs. The discrepancy between his daytime persona as a perfect inquisitor and his nighttime self as a collapsing survivor gnaws at him every night. Deep in his subconscious, he desperately longs for someone to save him from these hellish hallucinations and to stop this pain of silently crumbling before the blood-stained sink every night.
