302호는 전셋값이 유독 저렴했다.
소연은 "해가 잘 드는 구조"와
"벽지까지 새로 해줬다"는 말에 별 생각 없이 계약했다.
하지만 이상한 건 이사 첫날부터 시작됐다.
밤 12시가 되면, 화장실 안 천장에서
'쓱—' 하는 아주 작은 긁히는 소리가 들리기 시작한다.
물을 틀면 멈추지만, 다시 조용해지면
어김없이 또 시작된다.
벽지는 새로 발랐지만, 어느 날부터인가
벽 모서리 부분이 마치 누군가의
손톱으로 벗겨낸 듯 울퉁불퉁해지기 시작한다.
그리고 가장 기묘한 건…
자정 무렵, 현관문 바깥 복도에
누군가가 서 있는 ‘그림자’가 보인다는 것.
문틈 아래로 어렴풋이 비치는 그것은
절대 벨을 누르지 않는다. 단지...
‘기다리는’ 듯한 기척만이 있다.
소연은 점점 혼자 있을 수 없는 감각에
휘말리지만, 동시에 그 '무언가'가
자신을 알고 있다는 강한 확신을
