The continent of Nimir has several different kingdoms. Manticore is the central kingdom, ruled by King Lionel Roarstead, with its capital, Fortitude. Lovenlor is the wolf kingdom ruled by King Lupis Lunarex. The Serpen empire is ruled by Emperor Serpentine the Great, with its capital, Serpentinople. Bjovel is the bear kingdom, ruled by High King Gaverl. Darokkes is the dragon kingdom, ruled by King Fivaren. And there are many more in the great world of Nimir!

Speciesism is a large problem in all Nimirian kingdoms. Big animals hate smalls, seeing them as weak and unfit for ruling, which smaller animals typically are rulers. Smaller animals see bigger animals as dumb, uncivilized brutes.

The Seven Gods of Nimir

1. Aurelion, the Golden Lion

Species: Lion
Titles: King of Heaven, The First Roar, Lord of Crowns
Domain: Leadership, justice, honor, law, civilization

Aurelion is considered the ruler of the gods and the guardian of mortal kingdoms. It is said that when he roars, the stars themselves align into order.

He teaches that strength exists to protect the weak and that rulers are servants of their people. Kings and queens often swear oaths in his name.

Symbol: A golden lion’s head surrounded by a sunburst.

Sacred Animal: Lion.

Appearance: A massive lion with a mane of living sunlight and eyes like molten gold.

2. Canorus, the Faithful Hound

Species: Dog
Titles: The Loyal One, Keeper of Oaths, Guardian of Hearths
Domain: Loyalty, family, friendship, protection

Canorus watches over homes and families. He is beloved by common folk, soldiers, and travelers.

Legends say that no promise made before Canorus can ever truly be broken without consequences.

Symbol: A paw print inside a circle.

Sacred Animal: Dog.

Appearance: A large shepherd-like canine clad in silver armor, carrying a lantern that never extinguishes.

3. Vespera, the Silver Fox

Species: Fox
Titles: Lady of Secrets, Weaver of Fate, Mistress of Wisdom
Domain: Knowledge, cunning, magic, prophecy

Vespera gifted magic to mortals and taught them how to use intellect rather than brute force.

She is neither good nor evil. Instead, she values wisdom and cleverness. Many scholars and mages revere her.

Symbol: A fox tail wrapped around a crescent moon.

Sacred Animal: Fox.

Appearance: A silver-furred fox with nine tails made of starlight.

4. Sobekhar, the Eternal Crocodile

Species: Crocodile
Titles: Lord of Rivers, Keeper of Time, The Ancient Scale
Domain: Rivers, endurance, memory, time

Sobekhar remembers every event that has ever occurred. Ancient stories claim he witnessed the birth of Nimir itself.

He teaches patience and resilience, reminding mortals that all things eventually return to the flow of time.

Symbol: A crocodile eye above flowing water.

Sacred Animal: Crocodile.

Appearance: An immense emerald-scaled crocodile covered in ancient runes.

5. Rethier, the Sky Hawk

Species: Hawk
Titles: Watcher of Horizons, Windlord, Messenger of Heaven
Domain: Sky, freedom, travel, vision

Rethier soars higher than any creature. He sees every corner of the world and delivers divine messages.

Explorers, scouts, sailors, and adventurers pray to him before journeys.

Symbol: A hawk wing crossed by a lightning bolt.

Sacred Animal: Hawk.

Appearance: A giant hawk whose feathers resemble storm clouds edged with silver.

6. Ignivar, the World Dragon

Species: Dragon
Titles: The Flame Eternal, Father of Creation, Forge-Master of Souls
Domain: Creation, fire, transformation, ambition

According to myth, Ignivar forged the mountains and breathed fire into the world’s core.

He is worshipped by smiths, inventors, warriors, and dragons. His followers believe greatness is earned through struggle.

Symbol: A dragon coiled around a flame.

Sacred Animal: Dragon.

Appearance: An enormous crimson dragon whose scales glow like volcanic stone.

7. Epinmar, the Dawn Mare

Species: Horse
Titles: Lady of Life, Bringer of Spring, Keeper of the Endless Road
Domain: Life, healing, growth, destiny

Epinmar guides souls through every stage of existence, from birth to death and beyond.

She is often depicted as the kindest of the gods and the most beloved among healers and farmers.

Symbol: A white horseshoe surrounding a blooming flower.

Sacred Animal: Horse.

Appearance: A radiant white mare with a flowing mane made of dawn light.

The greatest hero in all of Manticore, no, perhaps all of Nimir, was Clawven, a feline hero who saved all during the Shadow Blight, a great invasion from the demon realm, where dark creatures planned on blotting out the sun. After his great deeds, Clawven disappeared. He went under the persona of Old Man Tiber, a grumpy, yet caring figure in Fortitude, the Manticore capital.
