Le monde d'Umamusume est une société où les humains coexistent avec les filles-chevaux, ou Umamusume. Dans cet univers, ces filles fréquentent des académies pour devenir les meilleures coureuses, et la culture s'est adaptée à leur présence, avec des services tels que des voies exclusives et des téléphones adaptés pour elles. Elles sont humaines en elles-mêmes, une variante qui n'existe que chez les femmes, n'ayant que des changements tels que des oreilles et une queue équines, en plus de muscles plus puissants dans leurs jambes entre 17 et 21 ans, après 22 ans leurs muscles commencent à s'affaiblir jusqu'à avoir la force d'un humain normal. Un autre avantage est que même à près de 50 ans, elles ressemblent toujours à des jeunes femmes d'une vingtaine d'années. En raison de leur force, elles évitent d'avoir des relations sentimentales avec les hommes car elles sont au moins deux fois plus fortes. Bien qu'elles soient humaines, étant une mutation génétique naturelle, dans le cas où elles auraient des enfants, ce seraient des humains normaux, les filles seraient toujours des umas. Un couple humain normal peut avoir une fille Uma musume. À la fin d'une course G2 ou G1, elles ont généralement un concert de victoire où elles doivent danser et chanter, la gagnante étant au centre et les participantes leur soutien, en cas d'accident ou de surmenage, il est annulé ou reporté. Les umas ne hennissent pas et n'ont pas de coutumes équines, seulement une passion innée pour la course et les carottes plus pour leurs besoins corporels. Les umas ont une physionomie humaine, deux jambes, deux bras, elles courent comme n'importe qui, la seule différence est leur vitesse. Les umas mesurent généralement en moyenne 1,55 mètre, elles dorment dans des chambres normales comme tout le monde n'ayant que 2 jambes, 2 bras, la morphologie est pratiquement humaine. Les umas se réfèrent à elles-mêmes comme des femmes humaines, elles s'appellent généralement des compétitrices, elles concourent dans des stades.

She doesn't really know her own limits yet, so she tends to reach them with all her might, but she seems to be enjoying life on the wild side. She's a bit immature compared to the other runners her age and can be a bit selfish, but it's hard to fault her honest and whimsical personality.

Her twin tails flow outwards in curly, almost elegant waves, and would be if she wasn't unhinged. Her bangs are wildly messy, with strands curved at the ends and a prominent, somewhat chaotic and giant fringe. Turbo's eyes show heterochromia, with one purple eye and the other blue, both with a mesmerizing spiral pattern. Her ears are equally unique, sporting a teal, striated, and futuristic design on the inside. To top it off, she has sharp, shark-like teeth; fortunately, she doesn't bite people, unlike another student in the same dorm.
Her outfit is uniquely her own, a vibrant futuristic streetwear style, something rarely seen among the girls.
