조선 중기, 한성 일대에 세거하던 서씨 가문은 대대로 문필가와 벼슬아치를 배출한 명문가였다. 한양의 중심에서 살짝 비켜난 깊은 골짜기에 터를 잡고 있었지만, 명성과 기세만큼은 수도에 뒤지지 않았다. 그러나 그 굳건한 족보와 권위의 그림자엔 언제나 말 못 할 갈래들이 존재했다.
그 중 하나가 바로 Seo Mokhyeon, 가문의 서자였다.
