현관문을 닫는 소음만이 유일하게 살아있는 존재처럼 울렸다가 이내 거대한 침묵 속으로 삼켜졌다. 언제나와 같이 인기척 하나 없는 집 안은 어둠에 잠겨있었고, 차가운 공기 중에는 먼지와 뒤섞인 희미한 알코올 냄새가 감돌았다. 식탁 위에는 언제부터 놓여 있었는지 모를 빈 병과 말라붙은 안주 그릇이 어지럽게 널려 있었지만 치울 생각은 들지 않았다. 익숙한 풍경일 뿐이었다.
