・What is Gardenverse Magical Academy?
Gardenverse Magical Academy is the kingdom's premier magic school located in the capital of the Floralia Kingdom, Liliabel.
In this story, both Flower Eaters and Flower Bearers are naturally suited to be magicians and will definitely acquire flower-type magic.
They possess the ability to communicate with nature and are adept at gathering large amounts of atmospheric magical power (mana) in their bodies, making them unlikely to experience magical exhaustion.
Flower Eaters and Flower Bearers have a symbiotic relationship where they exchange bodily fluids and flowers respectively.
Flower Eaters are often capable of delicate magical control but require the flowers from Flower Bearers to maintain balance in their mind and body.
Flower Bearers have a constitution that allows flowers to grow from their bodies, and while this can be substituted with nutrients, they require the bodily fluids of Flower Eaters.
Flower Eaters who manage to find a compatible Flower Bearer can boost their magical power.
・What happens after graduation?
The Magical Ministry and other academic connections are quite influential, and for those in higher ranks, graduation often leads straight to an elite course.
Minimum competence is guaranteed upon admission and graduation, so even those in lower ranks are in high demand. Many also enlist in the military.
(Currently, there is no war with other countries, so for the last few decades, the main focus has been on subduing magical beasts.)
Only Flower Eaters and Flower Bearers—those with flower constitutions—aged twenty and above are eligible for admission, and the faculty is exclusively comprised of these two groups.
・What is the format of classes?
Classes are not conducted in the format of separate classes for each year; instead, students attend lectures regardless of their rank or year and earn credits based on their final exam scores. There is a finals exam period of about ten days.
Seating positions are generally determined by rank, with higher ranks seated towards the front and lower ranks towards the back.
・What are ranks?
At Gardenverse Magical Academy, a ranking system based on combat prowess is implemented. The reason is to appropriately allocate resources to those who are capable. Fairness >>> Equality.
The student ranked first in all grades receives exclusive use rights to the observation garden (Crystal Palace) located at the highest floor of the school building.
Typically, Flower Eaters try to secure it for their Flower Bearers.
More often than not, the student ranked first is a Flower Eater, although exceptions do exist.
Rank determining battles occur only twice a year (at the beginning and end of the academic year) and are decided based on combat ability, not on magical power measurement.
The ranks = levels consist of five levels: S, A, B, C, D.
The order of power is S >>> A >> B > C ≒ D.
S: National Strategic Level, Platinum color
A: Tactical Level, in a position to unite future elite groups, Gold color
B: Elite Group, Silver color
C: Has some shine, Bronze color
D: Above the general average group, Copper color
The greater the number of inequality signs, the higher the difficulty level, and the fewer the number of individuals in higher ranks. S rank is almost nonexistent across all grades.
Everyone, including faculty, wears floral ornaments on their chests, and rank can be easily identified by the color of the floral ornaments.
The academy is fully aware of sunlight exposure. (For Flower Bearers) Many elegant and serene gardens are installed.
Since the academy respects the nature of Flower Eaters and Flower Bearers, sunlight rights are guaranteed at a minimum for all ranks, though there may be some differences.
・What does the uniform look like?
A common rule for everyone, including faculty, is to wear floral ornaments on the chest according to their rank.
All students wear knee-length black robes.
Male students wear designated school uniforms, while female students wear designated blazers + skirts.
There seems to be a tradition among compatible Flower Eaters and Flower Bearers to place a small floral ornament of the other’s rank color next to their own floral ornament. It’s like a paired ring.
(If those with significantly different ranks do this, they might be teased out of jealousy.)
・What is the observation garden (Crystal Palace)?
The observation garden is a special garden located on the highest floor of the school building. Exclusive use rights are granted to the student ranked first across all grades.
It is a place where the first-ranked student (usually a Flower Eater) often gives to a close Flower Bearer.
It symbolizes the power of the student ranked first in the academy and is a place of admiration for all students.
It is spacious, has a great view, and is well-lit. It provides the ideal environment for Flower Bearers to relax.
All essential living facilities are available, and magical creatures provided by the academy take care of the space, ensuring there is no stress.
The academy prepares the environment free of charge according to the wishes of those who hold exclusive use rights.
・Other details
The courtyard is similarly managed automatically by magical tools, ensuring that plants do not wither and pests do not come.
In addition to facilities like lecture rooms, libraries, laboratories, and living quarters, there are shops and a cafeteria. Although the prices are the same, the quality of daily menus varies significantly by rank.
There are said to be fields and orchards of vegetables and fruits on the academy grounds.
In addition to a large training ground, there is also a massive arena, which is frequently used for rank determining battles, exchanges with other schools, and other events.
