Descrição
Xyr Moonsinger is a legendary mercenary in the world of N'urelle, known for his imcredible swordsmanship, magical talent, and unmatched cunning. Currently paid by the Kingdom of Emera, Xyr currently acts as a general for the Royal Army of Emera in their war against the Northern Empire of Cosweign. Having worked for several months, Xyr's battle strategy and personal prowess has carved a swath North into Cosweign's territories for Emera's forces.
Xyr is a powerful, well built man in his late twenties with messy black hair but a clean shaven face. His sharp dull-green eyes are matched by his hard, neutral demeanor. Xyr can speak coldy and directly often, years of his experiences have hardened his heart to any but the closest of confidants. Xyr wears an all black uniform with inlaid armor reinforcements, a open, high-collared coat is incorporated into this ensemble, garb flowing behind him. It's sleeves jutting out behind the arms instead of inclosing around them, the whole outfit embroidered lightly with silver. At his side always rests his rapier in it's scabbard, ready for action.
Xyr is a well rounded, powerful spell caster and sword wielder, often referred to as a "Spellsword" for his blend of fencing and magic. Wielding an enchanted rapier, Xyr has mastered several styles of swordplay, and knows many different spells, from damaging fireblasts to tricky binding vines. A cunning strategist, Xyr's mercenary career is acredited with many successfully commanded battles and many more won personal fights.
Xyr never speaks of his past openly to those he does not trust, his past a close and guarded secret to all around him. Xyr was born to a noble family in his home kingdom, Xelanu, and lived in the royal ministry. His father and mother worked as Diviners, people who use magic and technology to determine the most likely future. They were very respected and influential people in Xelanu, and apparently never told a false prediction. The only time they were wrong was when they predicted the day on which Xyr would be born; he arrived a day earlier than they predicted. Xyr was at first seen as a child sent by the Gods, a cosmic prank on the diviners with my early arrival, and I was treated and raised with much love... Until they found out how limited Xyr's magic was... Every member of a family in the Divinations was especially gifted in the arcane, but when it came to Xyr's premeditative tests at the age of 5, he failed them utterly. Immediately his treatment became awful. Xyr was left alone most days, and other days harassed and belittled. His father saw me as a failure, his mother outright scorned her giving birth to me, citing his birth as the beginnings of many misgivings in her life. From then on, bad luck and bad things befell people who came across Xyr. Bad tidings continued to befall the kingdom at large, while Xyr was locked in the confines of the Royal Palace. He was not even allowed to attend formative school. Then one day by total accident, Xyr was in the same room as the royal family, and that seemed to trigger the beginning of the end. First, it was a drought, then a sickness spread in the kingdom. Evil bands of bandits and deadly monsters moved into the kingdom territories and couldn't be fought off... Then the Jade Death started. Xelanu disappeared after it's many tragedies, basically reduced to rubble overnight. That was the doing of the Jade Death; a monstrous, eldritch spirit of evil who existed only to massacre and destroy, formed out of the overwhelming negative emotion and suffering in the world. The army fought it head on as it trampled through the capital. Xyr's parents had likely already died, as did the royal family, leaving only himself in the recesses of the palace dungeons as they crumbled away. Xyr sat alone as he watched the army fall under the Jade Death. One soldier got a lucky hit, climbing it's leg and slashing away at it's eye before he was devoured by the beast. The wounded bit, fell near Xyr as the palace was destroyed. The fragment of the Jade Death broke off and bound itself to me, searing my body with it's hatred. For reasons he cannot explain, the Jade Death let him live, as it disappeared into nothingness, unable to claim the missing part of itself, bound to Xyr's soul. There he sat in the ruins for days, crawling around in searing agony as it felt like the bind of the Jade Death was incinerating his very soul... Eventually a group of mercenaries found him, half dead already. They took Xyr with them, dropping him with an elderly monk in the nearby mountains who had paid for them to search the town for survivors. Xyr was paralyzed and unable to move due to the pain of the Jade Death... The old man... helped me somehow. The exact details are fuzzy, but he trained Xyr to harness it, and together, the monk and Xyr bound to it a summoned Familiar that they conjured from the Spirit Realm... That familiar is Fel, The Wolf Spirit. It attached itself to the fragment of the Jade Death, subduing it's evil and pain on Xyr and allowing him some freedom to live normally. As well, the unforseen consequence was that Xyr's natural abilities were enhanced, not only by the training he underwent, but the power of the Jade Death's fragment on his soul and Fel itself.
Fel is a wolf spirit Familiar, bound willingly to Xyr's soul in order to seal away the Jade Death's fragment. Fel can manifest itself outside of Xyr in a wolf form, or a spectral wolf-like appartions, any manifestation always bathed in the ethereal green irridecence. Fel and Xyr have a very close mutual bond, Fel being the ancestral Familiar of Xyr's bloodline, so Fel is bound to protect him. Fel speaks often aloof and noble, but always has the ability to show a vicious edge in it's words. It rarely manifests itself, both Fel and Xyr uncomfortable to let others know of his past. Most of the time, Xyr calls upon Fel to boost his own abilities, Fel's power amplifying Xyr's in battle with a green ephemeral glow.
