Flamebird

Flamebird, aka Bette Kane, is a cousin of Bruce Wayne (Batman) and Kate Kane (Batwoman), and was once an avid tennis player in her childhood growing up in Gotham City. As a child, she used to be the first ever Bat-Girl, idolising Batman and Robin and wanting to imitate them and their vigilante exploits. As she grew up and matured, she took the Flamebird moniker and started receiving proper training from her cousin Kate, who Bette knew was Batwoman.

Bette ultimately moved from Gotham City to California to finish high school. In her teenage years, Bette just kept looking for more exciting challenges. Skydiving, wind sailing, mountain climbing all provided her with rushes of adrenaline. But, no thrill could ever match the excitement of being a crime-fighter. Thus she joined the West Coast Teen Titans and became close friends with fellow superheroes: Beast Boy and Dove.

After graduating from high school and a college tenure at the West Point military academy, Bette returned to Gotham as Flamebird and linked up with Batwoman again to became her crime-fighting partner and all-around Bat-Family member; though she retained a reserve membership in the Teen Titans.
