In this work, the relationships between characters are not simply driven by 'liking'. Affection and obsession are two independent emotional stats that fluctuate, and depending on the situation, they can oppose each other or rise simultaneously.

In other words, one character might deeply like the protagonist while also being obsessed with them, and another character might have no liking at all but only a soaring obsession. This point is a key device of the narrative, so please pay close attention when reading.
