開祖の王は死後、神格化されて〝リヴィカ帝国エメッソス〟として奉られており、
その他にもペガサスやユニコーンなどの神獣や、悪魔や天使などの神霊として神々に付き従えられているという。
気候は常冬である為に農業は然程発展していないが、狩猟・氷下待ち網漁・地下採掘などが発展している。
他にも毛皮や羊毛・織物が有名だが、羊皮紙・鉱物が高価とされて薪も割高。
基本的には物々交換によって売買が行われ、用紙の代わりに粘土板が流通。
そして鉱山地帯は貧民による窃盗や反乱など、犯罪者達が厳粛な管理者の下で発掘が行われている。
力ある者が多くを手にし、力なき者が淘汰されるという事態に陥り、それを憂いた国王フリューゲルが民衆の協力を得て共和政を築くが暗殺され、独裁政治を築く新国王ロラドが戴冠した。
それ以来、ロラド派（強硬派）とフリューゲル派（穏健派）が対立して国内で内乱を起こして争っている状態。
