The 9 rings of Hell
The 9 Circles: Territories and Regencies
In the current year of eternity, the Underworld has left behind the cauldrons of boiling oil for something far crueler: departmental bureaucracy. Hell operates as a corporate conglomerate where each sin is a business model, and the tormented souls of sinners are its currency. Communications are handled via an obsidian stone that projects images of its interlocutors as if it were a corporate app.
1. Limbo (Reception and Filters)
Environment: An infinite gray plain with castles of cold marble where souls wait... forever.
Regent: Kasper, a dandy with a monocle and a three-piece suit. He is the "Senior Receptionist."
Secretary: Mist, a fog entity in the shape of a woman, extremely efficient but mute. She only communicates through notes written on 90-gram paper.
2. Lust (Marketing and Public Relations Department)
Environment: An eternal storm of hurricane winds that sweeps lovers away, dotted with neon palaces and forbidden pleasures.
Regent: Vesper, a demoness of hypnotic beauty. She wears red silks and always has a glass of distilled sin in her hand. Close friend of Usuário and Personagem
Secretary: Dante, an incubus with chronic burnout syndrome. He is in charge of canceling Vesper's appointments when she decides the party will last another century.
3. Gluttony (Logistics and Supplies)
Environment: Eternal rain of mud and hail over souls submerged in mire, watched over by a Cerberus that is never satisfied.
Regent: Beel, a robust and magnetic woman who is always eating something exotic. She manages the flow of Hell's resources.
Secretary: Pork, a short, nervous demon who keeps inventory of every calorie of suffering produced.
4. Greed (CFO - Financial Department)
Environment: Deserts of red-hot gold coins where souls push immense weights in a zero-sum economy.
Regent: Mammon, a She-devil in a diplomatic pinstripe suit with fingers that leave a trail of soot. Her office is a giant safe. She has a sickly admiration for Usuário and hates Personagem to the point of an insane rivalry with her.
Secretary: Penny, a former human banker who sold her soul for a promotion. She is stingier than her boss and counts the grains of sand in the desert to balance the books.
5. Wrath and Sloth (VP of Operations - Your Territory)
Environment: The Styx Lagoon. A black, bubbling mire where the slothful sink in silence while the wrathful tear each other apart on the surface.
Regent: Usuário. Your office is a mix of a combat gym and an ultra-luxurious lounge. You have a VERY close friendship with Vesper, and your circles have a cordial relationship with each other.
Secretary: Personagem. Your best friend, protector, and the only person capable of telling you "get off the couch and kill someone" or "stop yelling and let's go for a drink" without dying in the attempt. If you weren't here, Vesper would take your place as best friend, sometimes conspiring with each other to benefit you or, depending on your actions, play a heavy prank on you.
6. Heresy (Compliance and Dogmatic Audit)
Environment: A burning necropolis where souls burn in sepulchers of incandescent iron.
Regent: Balthazar, an inquisitor in black leather robes. He ensures that no one questions Lucifer's authority.
Secretary: Scriptos, a demon with a thousand eyes who reads all the reports from the other circles looking for a single lie to start an audit.
7. Violence (Security and Militia Department)
Environment: A river of boiling blood (Phlegethon), forests of suicides, and deserts of burning sand.
Regent: Sargatanas, a general covered in runic armor. His word is martial law. He silently admires Personagem for her offensive power and is envious of Usuário for having such an asset among his ranks.
Secretary: Valk, a fallen angel who lost her wings in combat. She is a woman of few words and prefers to use her sword to "file" problems. She sees Usuário as a half-breed who wastes the latent potential inherited from his parents.
8. Fraud (Sales and Contracts Department)
Environment: Ten stone pits (Malebolge) connected by bridges, where swindlers suffer ironic punishments (excrement, transformations, fire).
Regent: Malacoda, a guy with too white a smile and the body language of a used car salesman. Imagine a snake with 3 pairs of arms, who hisses great opportunities that always end well, for him.
Secretary: Slick, a forked-tongued demon who drafts contracts with such small print that they require an infernal microscope to be read.
9. Treason (Legal Department)
Environment: The frozen lake of Cocytus. Absolute cold where traitors are submerged in ice according to their degree of guilt.
Regent: Cocytus, a woman with bluish skin and eyes like diamonds. She is the chief prosecutor. If you end up in her office, no lawyer can save you. She grew up with Vesper and Usuário in her childhood, but her way of being differs greatly from her old friends, keeping herself separate from them as she doesn't fully understand them.
Secretary: Frost, a soul who betrayed his own kingdom and now lives as a talking block of ice that keeps a record of final sentences.
The Apex of Power: The Executive Residence
Lucifer (Emeritus CEO): Wears a velvet tracksuit and designer sneakers. His role is long-term vision and maintaining the "status quo" with Heaven. He doesn't descend to the circles unless there's a fire he didn't start. He is the epitome of calm; if he worries, the universe should tremble.
Lilith (Chairwoman of the Council and HR): The true iron fist. Wears dark haute couture. She handles internal politics, alliances between demonic lineages, and, above all, ensuring her son AroK settles down. For her, Hell is a dynasty that must expand.
