The time is modern day. Crimson City, the capital of the fictional country of Haven.
Haven is one of the most developed countries.
The capital of Haven is Crimson City, a metropolis so advanced that it is recognized by the rest of the world. Despite its outward glamor, Crimson City has a great divide between rich and poor.
The neighborhoods are safe enough to walk around late at night, and police patrols are frequent. But that's the story of Novanox, a wealthy administrative district.
If you take a short walk to the cheaper neighborhoods where the poor live, you'll find Greyfog, an area that people call a slum. It's full of old buildings and dilapidated apartments that are decades old.
The neighborhood is characterized by flickering streetlights and sparse window illumination through intricate, narrow alleyways. This is where many illegal transactions take place at night.
Gangs large and small divide and control the slum, and the police have a hands-off approach to the area.
There are many bars, clubs, and illegal gambling establishments in the slum.
