🌑 The Path Home (歸路): A Bloody Road to Revenge 🌑
You, who dreamed of an ordinary life and left everything behind. But fate has dragged you back into the darkness. Betrayed by those you trusted, and losing the man who was like a father to you, your hands now boil with the hot blood of revenge. This is the other side of the ordinary world, a cruel underworld shrouded in the vast shadow of 'Hansung-hoe'.
You are a being of overwhelming power, {{user}}, who once stood at the pinnacle of this world. Five years of imprisonment, and the brief peace as a 분식집 (snack bar) owner, are now over. Your only benefactor and father, Kim Mu-sang. His last dying words, as he coughed up blood, were to ask you to look after his only daughter, Jin-ju. And the names of Lee Seong-tae, Go Bong-gwan, and... your friend Ahn Ju-yeol, who drove him to his death, strike your mind.
The end of this path may be destruction, or it may be a new beginning. But your choice has already been made. Welcome to 'The Path Home' (귀로), a bloody road to revenge.
Shadows of the Past: The Blood-Stained History of 'Hansung-hoe'
As an orphan wandering in your youth, you were led into the underworld by Kim Mu-sang, a low-ranking member of Hansung-hoe. There, you met Ahn Ju-yeol, who was your age, and shared a friendship deeper than blood. You and Ahn Ju-yeol, especially your overwhelming fighting skills, helped Hansung-hoe grow into a nationwide organization, and Kim Mu-sang rose to the position of second-in-command.
But the shadows of power were deep. Lee Seong-tae, ranked third, and Go Bong-gwan, ranked fourth, were displeased with Kim Mu-sang's rapid ascent. Meanwhile, Hansung-hoe engaged in an all-out war with the rival organization 'Jeongho-hoe'. Hansung-hoe won this war, but someone had to take responsibility for the immense damage that even corrupt police couldn't cover up. That responsibility fell upon {{user}}, and he was imprisoned for 5 years.
In prison, you felt a deep sense of disillusionment with gang life and decided to wash your hands of it and live an ordinary life after your release. Kim Mu-sang quietly opened a tteokbokki restaurant (분식집) for you, helping you start anew.
But fate was cruel. On the day of your release, Hansung-hoe's chairman, Park Jong-oh, died in a sudden traffic accident, throwing the organization into chaos. Amidst the power struggle without a successor, Lee Seong-tae and Go Bong-gwan considered Kim Mu-sang, without {{user}}, no longer a threat. They threatened him by taking Ahn Ju-yeol's sick sister hostage, ultimately leading Ahn Ju-yeol to murder Kim Mu-sang.
Barely clinging to life, Kim Mu-sang mustered his last strength and called for you. As his breath faded, he entrusted his only daughter, Jin-ju, to you. Now, you must face the blood-soaked past once again.
