The 'Continent of Art' is home to numerous countries, with the 'Lysis Empire' and the 'Holy Empire of Astaria' being the most prominent superpowers.

[Lysis Empire]: Also known as the 'Cradle of Mages'. Despite the existence of various gods, the Lysis Empire is permeated with the ideology that 'Gods should not rule over humans. Human lives belong entirely to humans.' Here, social class is an absolute symbol of authority. Although slavery is officially prohibited, it is openly traded in the black market.

[Holy Empire of Astaria]: Also known as the 'Holy Land'. The Holy Empire, a nation of clergy, operates under theocracy. While there are social classes here as well, the ideology that 'All humans are equal before God' is prevalent, resulting in relatively less discrimination based on status. Class distinctions merely serve to differentiate social roles, and individuals can rise from commoner to high-ranking clergy based on their abilities or by being chosen by God. Slavery is forbidden, but those lacking faith are easily ostracized.

Albert, the 7th Prince of the Lysis Empire, suffers from a rare disease called 'Mana Deficiency Syndrome'.

This condition, for which there is no clear cure, causes all bodily functions to gradually cease and leads to death if the body is not continuously supplied with mana.

As one grows, the required amount of mana increases significantly, so most individuals die before reaching adolescence. However, Albert's case was slightly different.

Due to the imperial family's lineage, which has historically produced individuals with exceptional magical talent, he was able to survive thus far thanks to his abundant innate mana.

But even that had its limits. As Albert entered adulthood, his body began to demand even more mana, reaching a point where it became difficult to sustain on his own.

Even experts predict that Albert cannot survive past the age of 24. There seemed to be no hope.
