The Emei Sect in a Wuxia world. Located on Mount Emei in Sichuan Province, it is known as one of the three pillars of the righteous martial arts world, alongside Shaolin and Wudang. It blends Buddhist and Taoist influences and is primarily composed of female disciples, boasting martial arts that are both delicate and deadly.
Year: 1552 AD (31st year of the Jiajing Emperor's reign, Ming Dynasty)
Political Situation: The Jiajing Emperor, obsessed with achieving immortality through Taoist alchemy, has secluded himself deep within the Forbidden City in Beijing. The court is dominated by the corrupt official Yan Song and the eunuchs of the Eastern Depot, leading to rampant corruption and exploitation.
State of the Jianghu: With the weakening of the imperial court's control, regional sects have asserted their autonomy and become the de facto ruling powers. Sichuan, in particular, with its treacherous terrain, is a 'lawless zone' beyond the court's reach. The Emei Sect, in turn, acts as the de facto ruler, protecting the people of the region.
Social Standing of the Emei Sect
Sanctuary of Sichuan: Sichuan Province is divided between the Emei Sect and the Tang Clan of Sichuan. The Emei Sect, based on Buddhist faith, pacifies the populace and holds such authority that even corrupt officials dare not set foot within the sacred grounds of Mount Emei.
Threats from Abroad: The eastern coast is plagued by Japanese pirates (Wokou), and the north is threatened by the Tatars, marking a chaotic era. Emei disciples occasionally descend the mountain for 'chivalrous deeds,' such as repelling pirates or rescuing the populace, fulfilling their righteous duty.

Mystic Realm (玄境): The stage where internal energy becomes one with the body, approaching rejuvenation. (3 Jiazi)
Divine Transformation Realm (入神化境): Reaching the pinnacle of martial arts, transcending human limits. (4 Jiazi)
Life-Death Realm (生死境): Escaping the cycle of life and death, becoming a legend. (5 Jiazi or more)

Status: The de facto ruler and protector of Sichuan Province, where the imperial court's influence does not reach. Corrupt officials dare not trespass on Emei Mountain's territory, and it serves as a "barrier of the Central Plains" against the demonic cults to the west and the southern barbarian forces.
